This is the official countdown thread for the August 2006 MCAT score release. Scores are supposed to be released on October 14th.

The only time I will be online is when it's been determined scores are up (read: forum floods). I won't be refreshing my browser til then. I might be posting on SDN at the time afterwards, but I doubt it.

i think i remeber hearing it was out ten the night before the expected date.
i hope to not be on teh computer alll day refreshing but if others are doing it then ill join the crowd.

is anyone running the chicago marathon the week after? I think it would be a fabulous way to run off your frustration, anger, or get rid of all that extra energy you have from getting a 45.

I'm running a half-marathon or maybe a full on Thanksgiving in Atlanta. I guess it will be therapeutic if I *still* haven't gotten over my 45 by that point...

it always seems to be 9 or 10 pm central... well, at least it was in april

Guys it depends on the cycle.

In August 2004 when I took it and scores came back in October, the test was scheduled for August 14th although Florida people had to take it 2 weeks later.

Anyhow, the scores came out Oct 12th in the daytime around 2pm.

In April 2005 when I retook it, the test was April 16th and scores came out around 8 or 9pm of the 15th of June and were scheduled to be up by the 16th of June.

In August 2005 when my friend took it their scores came out midnight of the night before it was supposed to come out but not as early as 9 or 10 pm.

This time when scores came out in April, people said it came out around 9 or 10 pm.

So who knows the exact time. We can just keep checking on the 13th and we'll know when someone posts on SDN.

No. They will come at 10 pm central time, 11 people that count time... I had a vision, and it will be so

Things had been moving quickly for me and this week it seemed to get back into my head, so here I am back at SDN and posting....

About 3 weeks now, homecoming weekend next weekend, and with school and council duties I'm sure that time will fly, or at least I hope...

I'm locking myself alone in my room for my score report, and if it is good I'm opening a very expensive bottle of wine, if not I'll cry.... either or lol

How good of an indication are practice test scores do you think? Did anyone who took the MCAT in April get the same score as practice tests they took?

all this talk about scores coming out is making me anxious. we still have 3 more weeks, you know!

Anyone else get the feeling that they tell everyone and themselves that they know they're going to have to rewrite, but will feel like crap regardless when the actual scores come out?

I can't believe the day is almost here. less then 3 weeks now!!!!! Its hard to believe October is approaching sooooo quickly. GOOD LUCK to all of us!!!!!

I just moved to Boston. For a good two weeks, between job-hunting, apartment hunting and gettting ready to move, it has taken my mind off the MCAT. So all I've gotta do is move to another city, take a short vacation, and I'd be relaxed until I get my score back! Unfortunately, I don't know how realistic that plan is 😉.

I have two exams next week which I am soooo behind for. I have been in the lab a lot too, and can't focus. Wishing I had just slept for the two days leading up to the MCAT.
Oh and secondaries right now suck. I hate these essays, and I often feel like why am I doing this bc I know I did sooo bad o the MCAT.

i totally feel you...i have been tryin to prepare myself for the bad news...but it seems as if its not really gonna help 'cuz i'm pretty sure i'm gonna bawl my eyes out on the night of Oct 13th

ive resorted to asking the significant other to remind me that i wont fail at life due to this test. three weeks left is too long

My advisor reminded me that no one was going to take me out behind the science building and shoot me if I don't get my dream score on the MCAT. But it's hard not to worry isn't it? I mean it's not like this test is important in determining our futures or anything... 🙁

I think I'm so calm because my target score was at the lower end of my practice tests, and I haven't freaked myself out over any of the passages... but the anticipation is really starting to hit now

Whereas I've freaked out because my last few tests had me in the 32-33 range and then one the very last one I took (AAMC7) I shot up to a 36 which would obviously do a lot more for me than a 32.

18 more days! What are your target scores everyone?

36-37 target... 37-38 average, last one 40 😀
I went in on that high note... I'm almost sure my scores will break down PS:13, BS: 13-14... the VR is what will really decide my score because I never know how I do and I ranged from 10-13 on the section in practice... probably an 11 though...

I'll call my shot right now, I think:

PS: 13, VR: 11, BS: 13 with a P in writing

Yea, I was getting 13s on PS and BS on my last 4 tests I think. It will come down to VR for me, too. Maybe a curve on PS and BS could help me with a 15 in each? 😀

-the day MCAT scores are released😱
-first day of basketball practice (NCAA here we come)😛
-date of our homecoming game (my fiance plays on the o-line)
-weekend me and my family meet my future in-laws (both families are visiting that weekend for the game)
All i keep thinking is if i didnt do well....everyone will know cause they will all be around on the 14th.:scared: On a brighter note if i did well everyone is already there and the PARTY can begin!!!!:laugh: 😀

Sounds like you'll have a busy weekend. Hopefully the scores will come out on the 13th and will save you some stress.

hey everyone ..... i cant wait to get my scores back ...but by waiting for them i dont feel any better ..i have like nightmare ....October Friday 13th will be scary 😳

It's great to see this thread stepping it up in posts, it was pretty lackluster earlier. Again, the 13th of October would be an excellent day to release scores. There are plenty of opportunities to celebrate or recover from a bad score. Good shall overcome!

i keep daydreaming about what my reaction will be to a great score... shock? screaming? nonchalant permagrin ? t-shirt with mcat score made the next day ? maybe even... finishing up my primary ?!? 😱 :wow:

I'm not applying this year, but I'm wondering why you guys are waiting until now to submit your apps. Don't you have a much higher chance of acceptance if you submit your app in June? Sorry if that's a stupid question, I don't really know much about the application process.
