OFFICIAL: Columbia Class of 2007

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Entei,

My reading is going extremely slow too. I just have so many things to do before my freedom is completely stripped away!

SistaKaren,

I'm right with you there. My family will be in town for the weekend. I'd like to spend a little time with them. Plus, my favorite D.J. birthday is the weekend before classes start. I wouldn't want to miss him spinning!

Bob

What's up, guys?

I finished TSCYaYFD. Man, what a sad story. 🙁 I have to read something nice and light now to cheer me up before school starts. The book was really good, but it made me so depressed!

Anyone have an idea about how we go about setting up cable TV?

Hey, Bones. Bard doesn't have its own cable service, so you have to set up things on your own with Time Warner NYC. It's kinda pricy, but I need my tv. At least they give you two free months of premium channels.

Did any other SDNers get Dr. Nichols as an advisor?

Hey Entei, you got an advisor?!?!?!?!?!? Let me know which dept sent the letter so I can go an ask who is mine! Are we supposed to meet with them during orientation?

I am leaving here on Wednesday and am looking forward to meeting you guys next Monday! One week left everyone!

:clap::clap:

Yup, I got assigned an advisor. The letter was sent from the Office of the Senior Associate Dean, and it was postmarked Aug 7.

The letter says that Dr. Nichols is one of five advisory deans assigned to the class. We're going to meet with our advisors weekly during first year, every two weeks in second year, and monthly in years three and four. The letter also says that we should contact our advisors to introduce ourselves once we get on campus.

One week to go!!! :scared:

Wow...that's really cool about the advisory system. It's nice that they're trying to make it a close environment.

Anyhoo, one week! Wow. I finished TSCYaYFD. It's fantastic. I can't wait to start some discussion about it.

I'll probably be heading up super-early on Monday. See you all soon!

Looky look! They posted the first year schedule!

Hi, this is my first post on this message board, i'm P&S 2007 as well & i'm flying up monday, and i was wondering what anyone knew about the status of things at the health science campus with the blackout and all . . .??

Hey future P&Sers --

Glad that you all are so excited to start because you are going to love it here. To whomever got Dr. Nichols as an advisor, you are all kinds of lucky because she is a cool lady. They will be around for 2 half days a week to get to know you and help you out. This is a big step up from the last advising system which was pretty much figure stuff out on your own.

As for stuff at the hospital, we have power back now, so no need to worry. But if you don't put in a ac installation request the minute you get here, you will feel how hot it was last night!

Whoo! I was sweating bullets there for a while, but the power's finally back!

I'm moving in tomorrow morning, guys. See you in New York!!

Hey!!!
Just got connected! Can't seem to find you guys at CU, where are you?

I'm in 917, but my room's a mess because I'm *still* unpacking! 😳

Are you guys going to the BBQ tonight? I'm the girl in the Drew University shirt. If you're going, I'll see you up there! :hardy:

Hey,

I wasn't sure where else to ask this question, so at the risk of sounding inappropriate I'll just post here...

I have an interview at Columbia next week on Tuesday, August 26th. Do any of you know by any chance if I can stay with a student on Monday night? I realize it's the first day of classes, so it may be difficult. I e-mailed Renee, and she said she would e-mail some students to see what she can do. Also, any of you successful Columbia applicants have any special tips for the interview? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sachin
