Definitely made my day a heck of a lot better. Checked in this morning to find that UoP stonewalled me.

Haha me too!!!
I just got an interview yesterday as well and am so excited! Anybody else schedule for January 18? If somebody needs a place to crash let me know and I might be able to make it happen.

Add me into the mix, I received my invite yesterday and I'm so stoked! My first NY school interview for this cycle, so yeah, things are really looking up for us guys hehe!

I'm still jumping up & down on my bed as I type this and I can't wait to meet you guys at the interview, it will be nothing but good times, and awesome food!

So who's going January 18th? Maybe we can meet up before the interview or after? I just dont wanna go in and out...kinda wanna stay a couple of days!!😀

what are all your stats for those who just got an interview invite?

I haven't heard anything from Columbia yet, no rejection or invite. I'm hoping im in the same pool too.

your gpa is fine, but the dat scores might be hurting you. i think the same goes for my application. columbia values standardized test scores, and all of their invitees have solid dat numbers (as far as I've seen).
good luck!

I heard a rumor from the current dental students when i was there last summer that if you had at least a 20 on your DAT (AA) then you had a chance of getting an interview. As you can see, i think i BARELY made it. :luck:

ha...so modest, "study buddy".

Yeah. that pretty much sounds like the rumors I've heard from previous grads. My gpa is awful but my DAT scores are okay, so I would guess that the latter is their emphasis for deciding on who to interview.

i have DAT scores similiar to yours and i got an interview invite

I am from California and I am debating whether I should get a flight to LGA airport (no nonstop flight) or to Kennedy airport (nonstop flight). Does anyone know how far it is to travel from kennedy airport to the Columbia university? The school website says it around $45 from Kennedy airport. Any suggestions? Thanks

From JFK to Columbia is about 45min-1hr if you take the subway which i personally like cuz it's only $7 compared to what you'll pay for a cab. You just get on the AirTran and catch the A. There's a stop right next to the medical center at 168th Street. Are you going to the Jan 18 interview?

Please check your PM. thanks

i wouldnt take the A from JFK because it takes sooo longggg. instead i would def fly into LGA and take the M60 bus for $2 which goes thru queens and then across 125th st. Get out at 125th st. and Broadway and hop on the 1 train uptown to 168th st. Taking the bus is nicer than the subway to since you get to see more (like the apollo!).

I thought about flying to LGA instead of JFK, the thing i worry about is there is no direct flight from California to JFK. I have to make at least one stop. I dont mind stopping at all, but i worry about delay, since it could be snowing or whatever.

I got an invite via email last week for an interview on January 25th (it was the earliest available date). Anyone else interviewing at that date??

Hi everyone,

I recently interviewed at Columbia (2/22/08). My question is once I'm interviewed, about how long does it takes until I find out about a decision? Thanks.
