This is the official "do I have a chance" thread.

Please put your science and non-science GPA, DAT breakdown, ECs, and any other information that would seem pertinent. Also number your post in chronological order so people can say "#1, 4-6, and 9 have a good chance, 2 and 3 sort of have a chance, and all the rest don't stand a chance.

This should organize the forum since the "Do I still have a chance" season is coming up.

Do I still have a chance?

Application was submitted Nov. 23. Application completes were all received by Dec 17.

3.17 overall, 3.11 science GPA (cellular, molecular and microbial biology)
3.67 graduate GPA (immunology- thesis based)

22 bio
20 gchem
21 TS
23 PAT
20 RC
21 AA
29 carving (do american schools even look at carving??)

I have 1 first author original article publication in Immunity and 1 original article that i am co-first author under review also at Immunity. I also have a publication in Immunological Reviews as last author and a small review in AITE as corresponding author under review. I have received a lot of competitive awards/scholarships.

I have worked in a dental office for about 8 years now (father is a dentist), and have shadowed another dentist in a hospital/surgical and clinical setting.

My volunteer/EC's include competitive badminton, fundraising, and various student associations and advisory committees.

If your dad's a dentist that's going to boost your chances exponentially, and your scores look good too.

I'm #2. (i posted these stats in another thread but will repost here in case i can get additional feedback from people)

4th year integrative biology major at uc berkeley

overall gpa - 3.49 (more accurately, it will be above 3.5 by the end of this semester)
bcp gpa - 3.35 (more accurately, it will be around 3.4 by the end of this semester)
science gpa - 3.37

as for extracurriculars, i mentor at a local middle school, work at the library front desk 10 hrs a week, attend a christian fellowship group weekly, and am an active member in our school's pre-dental club. basicall i do have some stuff to put here, but nothing of great leadership or personaly sacrifice.

That thread wasn't made for people to personally ask what their chances are... That's why DentalTrain made this thread.
