Has anyone heard from Emory yet? They are supposed to send everything out this week! Post here if you have heard anything in this last batch.

This waiting is killing me...I interviewed in December so it's not looking good for me. Does anyone else feel like you get to the point after waiting for so long, that you almost don't care anymore?!!!!! I just want closure. I'm happy with the schools I've gotten into but I simply want to know. Also waiting on Duke. Ahhhhhhh!

I interviewed back in early October!!!!!!!!!
so the signals are not good for me definitely.

I think they are running a little behind on this batch and whats happening is that we won't find out until early next week. I just want to know also. I've been waiting for 4 months expecting something... but as each batch passed, nothing.

i called emory yesterday and they told me i was "not accepted" at the last meeting, and that letters would go out next week. so, if you really want to know, you can call and find out. good luck to you all!

Bostonian, does that mean that you could be on the waitlist? Calling is so stressful...I called Tulane and my heart was pounding when the secretrary put me on hold (although I got in 🙂 )
I interviewed in October so I'm not really looking forward to good news from Emory-

I finally broke down and called today. The woman told me that I was not accepted but that I am almost certainly on the alternate list. It appears that they are working through groupings--accepts, waitlists, then rejects, sort of slowly. Bostonian--its possible that you are waitlisted but that she didn't have the list compiled yesterday. She said that an e-mail will probably be sent out to the alternate list tom. Now I just need to find a way off the alternate list because I really liked Emory!

Dr. L, I'm in the same boat. I found out I'm an alternate. I really liked Emory as well. Anyone know if there's been a lot of movement in the past from the alternate list?

I also called emory and was told I wasnt accepted .......I didnt even bother asking about an alternate list..I bet it never moves anyway.

KITO, I don't know about that. Emory is great and all, but I think some will get in as alternates. They do at higher ranked schools so why wouldn't they here? I think it's important to let them know that you are still interested, if you are.

Got the email today -- it says that all of its acceptances have been given out and that I am now a proud holder of yet another alternate spot. If only you could add waitlists into acceptances!

I also got an alternate status email today. What's up with the non-ranked alternate list? I don't really believe it-they could at least rank and tell you what number you are. Anyways, screw that. 😛

They didn't even try to be encouraging by saying that they have a "fairly large alternate list" 😕

Choker, why assume it's a rejection? I could be wrong on this one, but they don't seem to be sending out acceptances by e-mail. Maybe you've been accepted, and the letter is in the mail.

i got that beat. i was just waitlisted at a school that interviewed me on sept. 12. that's over 6 months ago.

I called the admissions office yesterday and here is the process.
1) You can call the office to see if you were accepted on March 11 (the last day of monthly acceptances).
2) If you were not accepted, one of two things is suppossed to happen--&gt;you will either receive an e-mail by today notifying you that you can be put on the waitlist or you will receive a letter next week informing you of bad news.

FYI, if you received the alternate list e-mail and still would like to be considered...take note, Emory not only wants highly qualified candidates but people that WANT to go to Emory.
