Took MCAT 4 times over last 10 years, will start as a DO student this fall. Can I say this now: "f#@# MCAT". Sold all my MCAT books last week. Who is with me?

I'm with you! I took it twice and sold all my books last month! Woo Hoo! Med school here we come! 😀

Now we have to worry about the boards, but not for a while at least. 😉

I'm with you! 👍 Made a nice little chunk of change on eBay as well.
That thing can and will eat your soul! 😀
Here's to moving on!

These guys just finished the MCAT CBT in Jakarta:

I have a bunch of Kaplan materials a friend gave me to study with and I keep trying to determine when to get rid of them. I'm still scared something is going to fall through and I will have to take it again. Once I take the boards, I will probably feel convinced enough that I won't have to retake it and will be able to throw the materials away. They just got packed this week for my move to KC.

I know what you mean t-funk. I was convinced that there was some sort of mistake about my acceptance, but now that I've paid the deposit and received all the paperwork I'm finally believing that it's really happening. I think after our first day of orientation it will finally sink in! 😉

When are you moving out to KC? I have a friend that just moved out there from San Francisco. He's a post doc at the Stowers Institute, which I think is close to KCUMB.

It depends but right now it will probably be the end of July. Orientation is the first full week of August. My SO wants to take an off-roading trip to Colorado the 1st week of August which just got moved from the last week of July when I was going to be able to go with him. I'm kind of sad they had to move the date so I'm kind of thinking that I will have a family member watch my kids for the first week of school and not bring everyone down until the 2nd week of August. Maybe then I can get to know my classmates. This all depends on my house and if and when it sells and when I get my thesis done. I may be able to move down earlier which would be great. I think orientation and financial aid going through will make everything sink in and then it will finally feel real.

When do you plan to move to TN? Are you going to get a room mate?

Wow, you've got a busy couple of months coming up! I admire you for doing this all with 2 kids and your SO . . . and trying to sell/buy a house too! You go woman! 👍 Sounds like a good idea for you and your SO to spend some time together, without the kiddies, before school starts.

I'm moving to TN around the end of July too. Orientation starts on July 30th and we actually have our first day of class (not a full day) on August 1st! 😱 I'm driving out to TN from CA, so that should be fun! 🙄 I'm going to live in the student apartments for the first semester or first year . . . it just seemed easier that way.

Well I hope everything works out perfectly for you. That'll be nice to have a whole month off of work before school even if it's spent packing and moving. The drive should be fun too if you like that sort of thing. I love driving across crountry.🙂
