For me its KCUMB and WVSOM. I am a Kansas resident, and I have wanted the KCUMB acceptance since I first read up on osteopathic medicine and searched schools. Well now I got it, but Im torn because I had such a great experience at WVSOM, I am from a small town and the total school enviornment was great, I am having a hard time turning my back on that. AHHHH😱

I think you answered your own question, re-read your own post, it sounds to me that your heart is saying WVSOM all the way, listen to it, even if it is not most practical or what not, you even already have WVSOM in your sig, I'm not really seeing an option here

The real question is are you willing to fork over the OOS tuition to attend WVSOM, and be more than 200K in debt by the time you graduate?

IMO, I would, WVSOM is a great school. LOL

my advice would be to talk to more students at each school

try to ask them every thing they hate about the schools.. get all the negatives on paper and decide which bother u less.. both are great schools and are overwelmingly filled with positives, so you trying to decide by that route is futile..

specific questions to ask
1) how cramped does the library get during exam weeks
2) questions specifically related to the cirriculum
3) what students do to excercise and relax (this is a must IMO), like is there a gym, if so how accessible.

questions you should consider on your own:
1) is going far away from home worth being away from your family?
2) what about wvsom was so much better than kcumb thats tugging you in that direction

just some idea, but you got time to decide, btw, congrats on your acceptances, just know that either way you decide, you will go to a great school and get great training.

You'd probably have to borrow more than $200k for KCUMB, too. Last I looked, their tuition was around $36k, and I'm sure it's going to go up every year like every other school out there. Living expenses put you back around $20k, so that puts you at $56k/year.

WVSOM is what around $46k/year for OOS? So it would cost the op an extra $40k or so to go there. This is assuming living expenses would be comparable between the two places.

So yeah, money's there, but it's not like KCUMB is dirt cheap.

go where you'll be happiest!! it makes life so much easier when you have to study 24/7 ..that especially includes location, feel, things to do, people, environment, etc.
