I'm just starting to apply to them (preliminary medicine), been trying to figure out where I wanted to apply and to what type of program. So hopefully we'll start getting some interviews after nov. 1!

I've had my ERAS done for some time, and have a handful of interviews.

Baylor
Caritas St. Elizabeth
Pennsylvania Hospital
UIC/Advocate Christ Medical Center
Washington Hospital Center

A few programs have said they are waiting for my dean's letter.

A few have told me that their interviews are full, and would let me know if anything opens up.

NYMC Metropolitan hospital
SUNY Stony Brook
SUNY Syracuse
Nassau U.

i have a question about the interview process. Are they going to ask a lot of technical stuff to folks going into Ophtho - does this affect your ranking ? How do you prepare for these Prelim Interviews ?

I have interviews for prelim spots at:

Brown
Oklahoma
Northwestern
Kaiser - Santa Clara

and for transitional spots at:
Newton-Wellesley
Valley Med in Santa Clara

I've also heard from tufts and St Lukes/Roosevelts. Good luck everybody

Have not heard zilch from here. Anyone hear from any preliminary medicine program in Los Angeles?

From what I have heard, LA prelims are sent out a little later then general med residency spots. No need to worry just yet

UCLA-Oliveview has sent invitations for prelims

here's my 2 cents for prelim programs:

brown
lahey
yale
UW
cedars-sinai
BU

waiting on: NYU, Columbia, UCSD, USC

Any word from Columbia or MGH prelim?

MGH prelim sent out invitations along with the rest of their programs. A bunch went out Monday and Tuesday (both invites and rejects) but not sure if more are forthcoming. They said if you don't hear by the end of this week to call.

invites

Pennsy
Graduate Hosp
AMH
Sinai-bmore
Hopkins Bayview
Mt. Auburn
North Shore Salem Hosp
UPitt

Rejection:

Haven't heard:

invites:
oliveview

I applied to Hopkins Bayview in early September, got an interview about a month ago and subsequently declined it (had already planned a trip to Baltimore for anesthesia and a different prelim).

I applied to Sinai in NYC late (Nov. 15th) after interviewing at Columbia for anesthesia and haven't heard anything yet.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for you advise; however I was actually looking at the hopkins/sinai joint program in Baltimore, not sinai (NYC)...
appreciate any adivce on that one.

Also Virginia Commonwealth University at Richmond. I feel the scutwork reviews (which aren't of recent and besides don't sound too good) are somewhat based on personal slant rather than true honest and neutral opinion. Any advise appreciated!!
