Of course, but broad generalizations can be useful seeing as how this gets posted relatively often. Based on an excel chart that doc toothache posted (forget the link) where each school rated their priorities of each section, this seems to be relatively accurate.

RC is highly regarded because it has the strongest correlation with dental school performance. RC, to a certain extent, is a skill that you either have or not that's pivotal for survival in dental school (a lot of materials to go through in a short amount of time). All the other sections are relatively easier and easier to improve on (I believe anyone can score 25+ on the sciences if they put their heart into it)

i doubt that.....especially someone simply using S&D and master that section wi/o fully reading the passage.

According to the most recent ADA stats that I'm aware of, the order is:

AA>TS=RC=PAT=BIO>Ochem=Gchem>QR

This was a poll of all schools. TS through BIO are not technically equal (38, 37, 36, 35 votes respectively) and Orgo and Gen chem are within three votes of each other.

I tend to agree. So long as the DAT isn't too low for an applicant's GPA (3.9 GPA and a 18AA/TS would raise some eyebrows) I believe the GPA is weighted more than the DAT. However, I disagree that if you have a bad GPA they won't look at your scores. Unless you're talking about a GPA that is so low that its screened out by the system before anyone even gets to it.
