I cannot believe you canceled Denver and U of Ariz!!!!!! 🙂
If anyone is planning on cancelling an interview at Cook, Resurrection, or U of I could you please let me know?
This is my first time on the Board (which is very helpful btw) so I'm not sure how this works but everyone seems really helpful here...
Thanks a million!
Just to let you know I cancelled cook county for Dec 17th today - hope that is enough time for them to find someone.
Thank you for the update on Cook County! That is so kind!

Cancelled New Mexico and Dallas
Thinking about cancelling Maricopa (money is tight) so if anyone really wants that interview, let me know and I will easily be swayed.

I know, just turned down the same two and LA programs. I'm still debating UCSF and Stanford. I've never really been to the bay area, but it seems to me a bit too hippy-ish for me....
If you're into the snobby-ish thing rather than the hippy-ish thing, then I suggest you make it to the Stanford interview.
Just cancelled New Mexico for this upcoming Thursday due to personal circumstances - apologies for the late notice, I hope someone can take my spot!
Q
Apparently, New Mexico chooses who they want (about 170 this year), and then they accept that a certain number will cancel. They don't bother with trying to fill in those slots...

Wow. That's a little rude/insulting, don't you think?
Let's refrain from casting stones on programs who might just have our back on match day!

I would have to disagree with that. I spent a month there, and the residents were among the nicest I have encountered. For anyone interested in Stanford, I would not worry about it being "too snobby-ish." 🙂

Didn't mean to be insulting, just an opinion based on my experience and comments made by 2 attendings and a resident. That's all. There's a program for everybody out there, and that's the beauty of the whole interview trail.
