I called Stony Brook today. The dept said that they have not finished reviewing application. They also said that SB does NOT have an offical interview "day." If the prof. you applied to work with is interested in you he/ she will contact you...within the next two months. I believe that is what is meant by "rolling interviews."

Hey for anyone who has applied or heard from University of Alabama. I know that people have gotten interviews. I had been emailed by my professor of interest awhile ago and he had a graduate student call me and talk to me about the program. Then he emailed me and asked me what some particular research questions were that i wanted to explore in graduate school. Then nothing. I havent heard a peep. Did you guys here from someone before your invite?? Do you think he didnt like my answer and i am no longer being considered. That was in the beginning of Jan and i know some people said they have interviews coming up this friday. WHat do you think??

Is there anyone here that interviewed at Miami? I know they have a second interview weekend feb 22-24, but I was wondering if anyone here interviewed during the january weekend and has heard about what will happen next. Do you think that all decisions will be made after the second weekend of interviews? Is it a bad sign if we interviewed already and haven't heard anything back? Sorry to sound obsessive... UM is my top choice and I just want to know if I should not expect to hear anything until March or if I should continue to check my email every 2 seconds. Thanks!

Rutgers (clinical PhD) is done sending out interview invites. I called today just in case. My first official rejection, whee!

I got a call from my professor of interest a couple weeks ago... the interviews are Feb 16-17

for clin psych Ph.D??? So weird, i called and asked last week and they said they hadn't extended any offers yet... LIARS.... 😉

Oklahoma State is having an Admissions Open house day on March 3rd and the website says they will extend interview in early Feb. I applied there also so I'll let you know if I hear anything but I'm assuming it will be another week or two.

I talked to the peopel at Memphis last week and they were the friendliest school Ive called thus far! I'm pretty sure they don't have interviews and offers will be sent out at the very end of february -beginning of march

P.S. still havent heard a peep from anywhere 🙁

And a question: If you have conflicting dates, is it appropriate to ask if there is an alternative interview date? What have you guys done in this situation?

I've had two phone interviews with UW this week... The girl I talked to yesterday said they would be meeting today to discuss everyone they've called and decide on who to invite... Adult clinical, btw. I'm not at all sure if she was only referring to AC, or if it was the entire department.

I contacted someone from the U of Michigan's Clinical/ Women's Studies Ph.D. and they stated that the interview date will be March 9-10. Dual majors interview with the clinical applicants.

Adult clinical and child clinical are separate programs and they do their interviews separate. Child clinical applicants should draw no conclusions about the fact that adult clinical may be calling people. Different faculty, different interview process.

Nothing useful except that I totally remember this thread last spring and having my heart broken when some of my schools were listed (and I hadn't heard a damn thing!) BUT I managed to trick some school into accepting me anyway. Rejections sucks especially for all you over-acheivers. Hang in there! You'll be even more miserable next semester when you are working your ass off and selling blood to buy ramen 😀

I had a conflicting dates and I just told the second school that I had already committed to another interview but that I was very interested in their program and really wanted to interview. I think it's fine to request another date and schools should accept that you are honoring previous commitments but I'm not sure.

I have applied to several schools and I have received interviews from two:

University of Maine - Orono
Suffolk University - Boston

From what I see, I have been passed over for interviews at SUNY Buffalo and BU at least.

I also heard from a friend that UC Berkeley is still reviewing applications and I heard myself from UVM that they will be calling tomorrow night (1/31) to invite applicants for interviews.

How did you find that out from UVM? Were you called or emailed?

I was emailed by my professor of interest on 1/29/07 who said in part: "We make decisions this Wednesday afternoon and notify people Wednesday night who will be invited for an interview."

I took this to mean a collective "we" as in all professors?
