I ABSOLUTELY agree with you on this point. You can't really fault people though, I mean you wouldn't know how hard it is to get into clinical psych unless you actually looked into it. And people say stuff like that with good intent.
But still, I hear you. When people say oh yeah, you're guaranteed to get into school x. Or, better yet, when you get an interview, "oh, they'll definitely accept you" ("Don't stress out, the acceptance is on it's way"). It is meant to be reassuring, but really it just kind of puts more pressure on you. People keep saying stuff like that to me, and it hasn't happened yet. I'd rather hear generic stuff like good luck, I hope it happens (not, good luck, it WILL happen) The flipside is though those same friends are pretty understanding if things don't go as planned, so don't stress out about it too much. I think this whole process is just starting to wear on us a little bit.
