Spoke with admin. assistant at NW Feinberg school of medicine. Interview invites will be made via phone by the end of next week or "definitely by the end of the month."
 
Anyone applying to Nova...got a letter yesterday saying interview invites will not go out for several weeks, but that interviews will be held March 9 and 12 and to keep the dates clear in case you are invited.

Wait, Feinberg...thats the one on the Chicago Campus right? I confuse myself...correct me if I'm wrong.

*Also-Irish80122- Who posted on Washington U in St Louis...I don't see that anywhere. Did you get a call from them?
 
I will post mine when I get them, no worries. I have had a few posters PM me interviews just because they felt nervous posting them. I wouldn't put them on the list if I didn't feel confident that they did start calling on interviews, it is just some people don't want to post it for various reasons and I decided to respect their privacy on that.

As far as I know, WUSTL has started inviting students to interviews, but no, I am not one of them 🙂. If you are nervous, you can always call.
 
I heard today from my person of interest at South Carolina (clinical/community) who wants to chat by phone next week. If I remember correctly he did the same thing last year and if all went well extended the invite for the interview, which I think was the last week in February. If I get an interview there I will post the date for further information. If you haven't heard from them don't worry, as others may not do the phone thing and just offer the interview straightaway.

No problem. I have a question that hopefully someone can answer? I too applied to Stony Brook, in fact it's my top choice. The deadline was 2 days ago so that is a super fast invite. Congrats!

In any case, I have heard that SB doesn't have an "official" interview day--that the prof. you are intereted in working with contacts you directly. Anyone know if this is true? Please feel free to PM if you don't want to post. Thanks!!
 
From the sounds of it it sounded like just a basic phone interview which is probably done on a case-by-case basis. Don't freak out yet, but then again all I have is speculation. Good luck!

SDSU/UCSD will be reaching their decision by end of jan and interviews are scheduled by mid feb. Invites will be given by end of jan i guess.
 
Hi, not sure whether anyone's posted this yet, but I got an email from CUNY's clinical psych Ph.D. program last night inviting me for an interview. No set date: I need to contact the faculty and student reps they gave me to set up the times.

Hey all I just thought i put it up there that I think i had a phone interview with SUNY Buffalo clincal PhD program. I say think b/c he called and at first made it seem like a step in between the first cut and the actual interview. But at the end he was like "ok well we will probably continue these phone interviews for another week and you should know in about 2-3 weeks" So unsure about whether it was the final interview or not but if you dont hear from Buffalo within a week I guess you didnt make it past the first cut. Sorry thats so unclear!! Oh, I am not sure if any one else applied here but the Curry School of Education (at UVA) clinical phd will be extending invites starting on the 26th on Jan and continue for around 10 days.

I have to say, I wasn't really getting caught up in thinking about interviews but since it seems like a lot of schools are starting to give emails/calls I can't help but rush home after work to check my email to see if anyone has sent me anything!!!

although none of my schools have been listed as notifying applicants yet, i cant help but be in panic mode. anyone else going crazy or am i overreacting (as usual)???

I'm in the same boat...and if I'm not mistaken a lot of others here are as well. I spend a lot of time just trying to stay calm. :laugh: All my friends are tired of hearing me analyze every aspect of the application process, and my BF has to remind me to breathe pretty much all the time.

Hang in there, nothing is decided yet and it's still really early in the process! Good luck to you (and every one of us!).
 
Just got off the phone with the program assistant at UF. She told me that the faculty is meeting on the 29th to decide on interview invites that will be goining out the following week. Interview weekend is 3/9-10.
 
I went through this whole thing last year, and I know it's easy to say this now, but you'll drive yourself nuts for the next two months if you don't just take things as they come. From my experience, schools rarely let you know about interviews far in advance, usually waiting until two weeks before so you can book flights. Some schools don't hold interviews until mid-March, so it may be a long time before you hear from those.

This is a great forum - wish I'd known about it when I was going through my applications and interviews and the wait afterwards. But I honestly believe people end up where they're supposed to be, and you just can't let the stress kill you in the process. 🙂

I have had many people who are awesome enough to call schools and ask when they will be interviewing, and I have been putting this information up. Would you all prefer I still do this, or should I wait until people actually hear from that school about interviews? I am leaning towards putting everything up and then just saying when the interview invites should be coming, but I don't know if that will stress people out too much.

Also, for those who are stressing know that I am too. I applied to 10 schools and I haven't heard from any of them (not like they have been mentioned yet in this thread, but you know). Try to relax...I am using the stress to motivate me to exercise!
 
I just got an invite to interview at Loyola, Chicago (clinical PhD)!

That's my first one! Maybe I can relax now. But probably not...

Dates: Feb 2 or 23

Overreacting, paranoid person here as well! :laugh: I've applied to several schools and only heard from one of them . . . and that was a we're not interviewing you but please do not consider this an official rejection :d So, even though I know I should be patient, I am religiously checking email, mail, phone messages for SOMETHING. This is my second time around and I was not nearly as nuts the first go-through. I probably should stay away from SDN--it'll just make my symptoms worse.

I also think that any information on dates is useful, so that we have a little more time to plan around dates for travel.
 
I have started putting up dates for those that I see as of yesterday, I just haven't gone back yet to get all the old dates. If you do get an interview, please try to post the interview dates just so people know 🙂. Thanks!

Hey, I got an interview at Pepperdine for the Clinical Psy.D. program, but the exact dates haven't been worked out (sometime in mid-Feb). Also got an interview for PGSP on Feb 16th.
 
I just got a PM on Catholic U. but unfortunately I can't reply to the person because their box is full. Has anyone else heard on Catholic U Clinical? If so, when did you hear? It may unfortunately be the first school off my list 🙁.
 
Hey, so you realize that we all want to be psychologists... this is the first step in our training. getting through this waiting period will surely helps us do better in school and in life... HA!! anyway. A prof of mine told me to stay postive and keep busy. which is not too hard, I am busy checking my email about 50 million times a day. and watching my phone to see if it will ring takes up a good portion of my spare time. and once i day I walk out to the box to check the post. Yep, busy as a bee!

I missed a phone call today but the person didn't leave a message. I spent the next half hour figuring out the exact city the phone call came from and deciding it couldn't have been about grad school. Ugh, not healthy.

You sound like me when I was a young wiper snap crushing on a guy, hoping he'd call. and star 69 those missed calls. Hang in there. You're gonna get in to the school you are supposed to go to!
 
I hope so. If not, I have learned a lot about perseverance being a college transfer, so one way or another it will work out. I just would prefer to get in the easy way this time 🙂.
 
Hi,

I spoke to the Adminstrative Assistant for the BU psych department, and she told me that professors starting making phone calls for interviews as of yesterday. Supposedly calls will be made through the end of next week (give or take a couple of days?) So, hang in there BU folks!
 
If you are asking me, someone PMed me with that information if it is not posted here on the board. I am posting information either way since some people don't want to post the info for privacy reasons but want others to know, which is nice of them 🙂.

I got a call on my home phone from VCU regarding an interview on Feb 2nd with one of the profs i indicated I would like to work with. I called back to find out more info and to ask about dates but I had to leave a msg. I noticed on another profs website that he had indicated tentative dates as Feb 2nd, 16th and the 19th. As for when they will call? I think it may depend on what profs you indicated and when they plan to interview.

I applied to VCU also and i was just wondering if this was the clinical program you are talking about. ALso do you mind me asking what prof it was? If you dont want to post it could you pm it to me? Sorry i am just going nuts cuz i havent heard from so many schools.
 
Hi Famous. Of course I will tell you all. We may be all trying to get into the same programs! I applied for the Clinical PhD and it was Dr. Auerbach who wants to interview me. I indicated on my app that I am interested in psycho-oncology, and he has experience in that. And of course, I have not heard from anybody else. Oh except Arogsy DC. but since it is a private school i didn't mention it. Where else have you applied?
 
Ok. So i searched UMBC to see if anyone had applied and I found a thread dated last feb! same thing as this time. So I guess it's kinda nice to know that we are not the first to go through this and we are not the last. and for those among us who've done this before... i salute you, 'cuz this sucks! Have a great weekend. try to stay off the computer :laugh:
 
U-Mass Amherst interview invites have gone out (for 2/2, 2/3, 2/4 weekend)
 
This is much easier said than done, but at this point there is nothing you can do. Either you have an interview or you don't ... you can't change what will happen, so stop worrying!
 
Thanks..when did they call you? I applied to work with Southam-Gerow and I just saw those dates on his website. VCU is one of my favorite schools and I just want to know soon..

I have been on the phone with UMBC A LOT lately (they are missing a TON of items from my app - the only school I've had any problems with!!). Anyway, they seem to still be in the process of sorting through applications - I didn't get the impression that any apps had been sent to professors yet, so it may be awhile.
