Hey fellow MCG applicants, and students! Just wanted to start a thread on the topic of just MCG. I'm applying there this coming cycle, and want to share and get info on the school in general. This is the school that I really want to go to, and I'm thinking about applying only to that school until I get in. Am I crazy? Current students, how do you like it?

Yeah MCG is my first choice too but i am also applying to 10 other school. A little overkill but want to make sure i get in somewhere.

Yes...MCG is by far and away my top choice. And, I am applying for this coming cycle which makes me EXTREMEMLY nervous!! I am hoping the admissions com. will have mercy on me being older (34), and let my old butt in!

I suggest any of you applying to go and check the school out if you havnt already. I took the tour of the dentistry building, and the tour guide was Dr. Volkman, who is also on the admissions committee 😱 .

So, got any application/interview experiences to share? Its gonna be tough keeping this thread alive, seeing as MCG only takes GA residents, and there's prob only a handful on SDN. 🙄

Yes they do have a personal statement.

yeah i really wanted to go to mcg, but i didn't get accepted unfortunately..does anybody know what the possibility is of me transferring to mcg from nyu? from what i hear it's practically impossible

This is where I want to go. Mostly because it's in state, close to family and cheaper than some other places. I'll go wherever they take me, but I imagine my best chance is probably there.

I'm going Monday to meet with an admissions director so if anyone has any burning questions let me know and I'll ask 'em for you.

I'm taking the DAT in like 2 weeks--- i'm getting nervous!!

Hey yeah I am going to MCG on June 3rd for their closer look tour does any one who conducts those? Could it possibly be any one on the admissions committee? I am taking the DAT on June 10th. I can't wait to get this over with.

You should just call and ask Jane Flanders who conducts it. Chances are you'll meet with someone on the admissions committee first and then get the tour by a student.
