Hello everyone! I'm a new IRTA planning to start on June 2nd at the NHLBI. How is the process going for everyone?

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get your offer? Did you contact PIs or did they contact you?

I contacted PIs directly. They will almost never seek you out.

I emailed 30+ got about 12 responses got 2 interviews and 1 offer.

I also contacted labs. I think I contacted 40-50 before I got a position. I'll be starting in June or July at the NCI.

I'm starting to write my emails right now. It gets a bit tedious trying to find something original to say to each PI. I'm mostly applying to NIEHS and a few NIAID so I might not end up in Bethesda (if I even get in at all).
