I myself got waitlisted at RWJ. I had a horrible experience there though. (I am not bashing RWJ for you RWJ lurkers.) My interviewer never showed and I had to have an alternate interviewer who knew nothing about me and was annoyed she had to interview me at all. It sucked.

I had my NJMS interview on a monday, and my RWJ interview was on the very next day, tuesday. I wanted to cry after my horrible interview at RWJ, but after my interview at NJMS went so well, I didn't feel as sad. And here I am, going to NJMS!!! The students were so much cooler at NJMS, I knew I'd fit in once I got there. 🙂

So excited guys... I have so little left to do for my college courses... I'm so ready to be done and onto something new.

ya..the PI is working on clinical trails of a cancer vaccine (Phase 1 i think). Also, they are giving fish some kind of cancer and checking for abnormalities in their chromosomes as the cancer progesses.

yep..i got all my titers done, already got shot 2 for hepi B, ready for the 2nd PPD test next week! $301???? so far i have paid 30 bucks, just for lab copays and doc copays....lol

its to see if u have antibodies against varicella, MMR, etc etc (a antibody count).

Yeah I got all the physical stuff done last week (got my 2nd TB shot checked out last Thurs) and sent in my stuff on Friday.... only had to pay a $10 co-pay for everything! 😀

Got my physical done, blood drawn, PPD done, everything done! Now I'm just waiting for titer results to come back and for the doc to sign the forms.

I finally got my financial aid stuff figured out! The woman on the phone said I got 26 grand a year, like you, drguy. She said I could borrow the full amount though later on. Weird they didn't just give us the full amount, the amount requested, in the first place.

I wish this thread was a sticky, I always have to hunt for it! Only 3 more months till med school!

damn titers! i had chicken pox when i was a kid..and IM NOT IMMUNE, i dont believe it!!!! lol i have to get the freakin vaccine now.


o and pls make sure ur HB surface antibodies are QUANTITATIVE ( a number) and not just reactive or uncreactive...i caught that on my report and thankfully the blood places hold ur blood for 7 days...so they are gonna do a antibody count now.

shoot, I cant remember if mine was quantitative or not....i thought it only said "reactive" on mine....or maybe that was another test hopefully....that will suck if i have to get blood drawn again, oh well guess its no biggie

I also received my 2nd "you need to do the online loan counseling" letter, so I called them. They had me fax my confirmation thing I printed out after I completed the online quiz.

Maybe they'll finally send me mine now!

at least ur revieving something...im not gettin nothing..the last thing i got was thanking my parents for comin to the parents day and that all incoming students are subjected to a background check. nonetheless...im happy..im almost done wit undergrad...

Tad- I had a 3.8 with a 3.6 science GPA, 29 MCAT, and unique prereqs (I'm an occupational therapist, ran a rehab company, lived and worked in Portugal for a year, roller hockey stuff, etc.) I got into both. Loved NJMS, and didn't really like RWJ - not sure why, but just a gut feeling. Do well in school, and be passionate with your extracirrcs (quality, not quantitiy) and you'll be good anywhere you wanna go. Good luck.

wit the transcript, im not sure u have to send one in...but i would do it anyway( from all ur schools), the only reason some of us have to send it in is cuz were finishin out last semester, and they gotta see that we didnt screw up big time.

I have a 3.8 cum, not sure hwat my science is (prob about a 3.7, perhaps) and my MCAT scores should be here next month- i was averaging about 29 on Kaplan practice exams- anything less than a 31 and im retaking though. I got a 10 10 10 P on MCAT, my sci GPA is a 3.7 and cumul is 3.712 rite now, bio and psych double major, completing in 3 yrs. Tutor (orgo 1, orgo 2, genetics, calc, precalc), research, clubs, honor societies, ect ect.

3.67 cum GPA and 32 on the MCAT. Peer tutored for 3 years, did research and other extracurriculars. Got into NJMS and was waitlisted at RWJ. Had a bad interview there, mebbe that was the reason. Still, I had a better gutfeeling with NJMS than RWJ so I think it worked out fine. Hope this helps.

I think we have all have similar stats. I have a 3.86 gpa, 3.9 science, 29mcat (verbal was the killer), double major eco/bio, lots volunteering, research, TA, clubs, etc.

btw, I just got a letter saying I got the wrong hep B test done, it wasn't quantitative, such a pain in the ass.

I played in a roller hockey (hoquei em patins - conhece o desporto?) league in Ourem, near Fatima and Tomar. I did some work as an occupational therapist in a small rehab clinic in order to keep my resume current and keep up on my skills. LOVED IT...but came back after 9/11 'cause the embassy kept telling me that there were threats to Americans in Europe...

That's my story.

I do, by the way, have Norton Antivirus updates and all, and it cannot find anything...any ideas?

just block the senders if its coming from one place....if its multiple sends, just dont open em and the virus wont affect u. just delete the whole contents of the junk folder when its get to a big size. it shouldnt affect ur comp at all..unless u open any of em.

I don't think my trouble is at all UMDNJ related, I was just hoping that someone here had an idea on what was up. I actually think that this is sending email from my hotmail account to various places...I guess I need to fork over the cheddar to have a pro look at it.
