If any one going to the overseas portion of the Military Tropical Medicine Course this summer is having trouble getting their official/no fee passport, here's a link to avoid the masses who frequent/work at the Post Office. In lieu of going to the post office and paying their processing fee, you can fill out this online form and submit the paper copies with your supporting docs, free of charge. (well, you still have to pay for postage..)

My command doesn't have a travel section (I'm finishing a FTOS residency and assigned to a ROTC program) so their instructions were "here's your letter saying you need an expedited official passport.. now go to the post office." The post office told me to have my command handle it.. Grr..

    Best ~
