mine was after. about month and half after they asked for supplemtal.

Just to shine some light for those who think it's going to be impossible....I have an interview at Loma Linda in two weeks.. 3.4 cum 3.2 science, 19/18/20. You never know.....its not ALWAYS about the numbers! Let's hope, anyway!

1. Indiana 8/18
2. ASDOH 9/2
3. Midwestern 9/5
but I do have an interview with Columbia 10/17... 😀
DAT: 19/18/21 GPA: 3.03

When you get into Columbia you can laugh about getting turned down at ASDOH
 
stupid question but can you get rejected without having DAT scores at schools?

indiana and USC already rejected me. how crazy is that on USC's part to be so quick this time around ?

any IVY schools rejection? I am interested to know when they start sending "rejection" mail or email?
 
I got rejection from UMKC yesterday in the mail. I was already expecting it because they primarly accept residents and residents from surrounding states and hawaii. I did not realize that when i applied, just saw a decent number of out of state. turns out they have a formal agreement with those few states. so on predents it can be confusing if you dont research quite a bit more on UMKC website.

anyway, i was not bumbed because I was already expecting it because i found that stuff out after i had applied

Do u have crazy ECs or volunteer experiences?

I got rejected from Nova last week. I have a 19/19/20 and a 3.43 GPA (which is also very upward trended). I think with Nova you HAVE to apply very early because i remember looking on predents.com and there was already like 50 interview invites on that site alone by August. I mean, schools like that get almost 3000 applications. It is just so hard to stand out. They must look at hundreds of 19 DAT 3.5 GPA applications a day. you just have to get lucky in order to be the one that they see something that interests them.

IMO being Florida resident is imprtant too.
 
Yea I live in Tennessee but my dad lives in Florida, that is why I applied there. I also applied to UF, they asked my to fill out a secondary application, so I am going to get that back to them asap.

I just want to say that I think it is wrong for Nova to make you pay the $60 fee or however much it is, and then they reject you right away. They need to only ask students they are interested in to fill out a secondary application and pay the fee.

I am a tenn resident too and my parents live in Fl too. unfortunately, MANY schools make you pay upfront before they will even look at your app. so far, NOVA, UNKC, Kent, Tuffts, BU, NYU... all asked me to pay fee upfront

Yes I have 4000+ hours worth of ECs/volunteer experience/work experience. As far as what they are looking for, this is what their website says...
"The School of Dental and Oral Surgery seeks a diverse student body. Eck my first rejection....was sad I was rejected from Indiana, but happy that they didn't ask for the secondary application fee before doing the deed!! GO INDIANA!!

And no news on the fifty billion other schools I applied to...the silent treatment is making my eye twitch

rejection through the mail from UCSF today... but it came with a interview invitation to LLU and Marquette... I dont wanna live in SF anyway🙄...
 
I was thinking, how quite is this thread during weekends, usually we don't get mail or email from schools in weekends. That's good, we can breath for two days at least. 🙂

Kentucky said "Declined" by email at 12:01 on Sunday.😡 I'm a long shot but I hope I at least get one interview this year.

So far I have only one interview and hope that more good news are coming in this coming week.
 
This is my first time applying to dental schools and I'm running scared. My scores 20/20/20 aren't great, but thought I would do okay. I have interviews at Michigan and Indiana, but was wondering if I will hear from the other schools either way. Will I get a rejection letter even if I don't get an interview, or do I just figure they aren't interested if I don't hear anything soon? I also applied at Case, OSU, and Detroit Mercy.

Oh I am... Initially I was just hoping for one interview, so you can imagine how happy I am to have 3 this early. The thing that bothers me about the 5 rejections that I have is that it just seems like some schools waited for me to pay my application fee and rejected me immediately without really looking at my application.

Thanks! I posted the interviews that I got because many people here told me that I wouldn't even get an interview. Don't let those people discourage you, it's not all about the numbers. Good luck to you and all the other applicants like you...
 
ATSU today ;( so sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙁 no interviews yet anywhere else... submitted app June, retook dat July 31..
GPA 3.4 aa18 sci19 pat20 lots of volunteering, 5 yrs of dental experience, research... why were they to reject me so quick?? 😕
 
Some ppl from the admissions committee at the med school here came to us and told us that when they see a great student (in terms of their stats), they will reject the student bec/ they know that they will get accepted into Ivy Leagues. and hence, they don't want to save a seat for someone they know will not choose this school..
maybe NOVA is doing the same to some of you guys with amazing stats.... 🙁 even though NOVA may be ur #1 choice (they don't know that).

BTW: the reason we got into the topic was bec/ one of my friends got accepted into harvard but rejected to ALL other schools! and we commented this to them and asked how it was possible...😱
but yeah, the ppl were members of the admissions committee, a few of them only, like 7 ppl only came..

Hope this aleviates your worries! Hopefully you guys get accepted to much better schools 😀😀

IMO, Nova gives piroty to the Florida residents first.
 
My turn, USC, dated 17th of september... one of those continuing review letters, which deep down we all know what it really means. Its upsetting, but it saves me a flight across country and I knew that OC 17 would cause a problem for some schools (watch the timer kids!) It just makes me nervous since I haven't heard from my instate schools (Buffalo and NYU) Show me some instate love!

ok, I think I am going to have one like yours, because your Stat is better than mine when they reject you, I consider myself rejected.
 
one interview and 3 rejections from case, nova, & asdoh. you would think i'd get used to rejections since i'm applying for a 2nd year but it still hurts!
