thanks for the kind words, very cool of you. I hope i get accepted at least somewhere, i have interviews at colorado, case and nova and would love to go to any of those so i'll just keep the faith and move forward, best of luck to you as well!

yeah I'm surprised you didn't get an interview I mean a 21 is 90+%ile....

The avg DAT score there is a 22 but I imagine they get a lot of 23's and 24's so you figure people with 21's should get an interview when they have a 3.9GPA....maybe its the TS????

I guess you can't win them all.....I'm sure with your stats your gonna have PLENTY of other options, best of luck on your interviews.

For me, I think it was maybe a lack of research. I had just over 30 hours as a research assistant. Also, I think luck is a big factor. When you have so many applicants w/ similar stats, some of those are just gonna have to get rejected. Regardless, those that did receive interviews are well deserving. Congrats to them, and remember, you only need one school to like you and bite. Just my take on the matter.....
 
i got rejected from harvard, too. 🙁

oh well, i guess i should have expected it and saved the money.

yeah man....anyway you should stay in Florida trust me it gets cold up north.....I'm starting to wish I applied to some schools down there :laugh:

I got the same letter but I do not have your kind of stats...I applied in the possibility that having a grad degree in physical therapy and working for the past five years would give me at least a look but nope...no big surprise...

if you get into CU, it is a beautiful school/campus...just built recently. I moved to TX a couple of years ago and would love to go back if accepted. Denver is a great city and you have the Rocky Mtns as your backyard.
 
does anyone thinking calling the schools for updates would help? I am going with the belief that they (schools) should be left alone as they are busy enough reviewing apps let alone answering some random applicants questions about interviews...

I'm a Florida resident, my mom is a NOVA alum, and I also got rejected from NOVA...and this board doesn't make me feel so bad because clearly im not the only one with good stats who got rejected...

I guess they are looking for 30s and 4.0s?

arrggh UCSF!! i EVEN changed up my secondary quite a bit (im a reapplicant) ! what the heck are they looking for??!

Maybe a higher QR score? Just a thought...but I haven't heard back from them and I feel like its like a rejection.

I believe the message is exactly what they told you> strengthen all aspects of your application and apply early next year.

Of course, that is only if you have to reapply next year...
 
Ya, I think I may end up getting a masters then reapplying...it's not looking to good for me this year...

UCSF wants research. My QR is low also and other scores are not nearly as high as yours and they still did not reject me long after they got my secondary (Sept 9th) Maybe you should go volunteer at a research lab & update your app or if you want to re-apply there for next year. :luck:good luck!

oh no, my "down" is a little different than first applicants down..

this is my 2nd time so my "down" comes with a "panic" lol. i HAVE to get in this year..otherwise it's another waste of a year! imagine..2 years of this non-sense/stress..

but i am very grateful for 3 interviews..gl and congrats to ur BU interview..what do u think they are looking for to be granted an interview?

oh for sure..i didn't do any microbio/biochem research..just student independent research related to dentistry..

but i dunno, ucsf is very very selective..my friend last year had a 21 AA 28 PAT and got rejected ..+ research! no worries..i really wanna stay in CA that's all. =) i ain't gonna lie..im gonna get homesick and 4 years away from home is a LONG time.
 
got another big fatty rejection this weekend from midwestern. i guess scoring in the 95th percentile on the DAT doesnt mean anything. looks like i might be reapplying next year or jumping off of a bridge, havent decided yet.

Great DAT scores (for the most part). I wouldn't give up yet, but I would suggest enrolling in a MS program this winter or at least enroll in some heavy upper-division science courses. Without seeing your transcript, but based on the fact that your a Microbiology major, I imagine you have a significant number of biology courses with below average grades which scares the heck out of ADCOMs.

Using the gpa ranges given in the 2008 ADEA OGDS, of the schools you applied to only ASDOH, BU, and UoP accepted an individual with less than a 2.7. Of course not all of them had enrolled a student with a TS of 24, but still your GPA is either outside or on the precipice of the acceptable limits. It is a miserable place to be, I am going through a similar situation.

Well, 22 on DAT means a lot but it's difficult to cover the fact that you have a 2.7 GPA.

I think you got hit with cutoff for GPA, it is possible they even didn't look to your DAT scores. give them a call who knows..........
 
Rejection from UNLV. So far 2 rejections and no interview yet. This is so depressing. :'(
 
I submitted my app in early July. By the way, I just got another rejection from Colorado.

University of Michigan which I am currently an undergrad send me a nice rejection email. Here is an attachment file, and I quote the part that I only read...

"Your application to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry has been carefully reviewed and regretfully, we are not able to offer you admission."

They need to function more like a state school and start interviewing more in state people. Good luck to rest of your app.

Just got UCSF today....can't say I didn't expect it but I am a tad disappointed.
