Two years in a row I interview super early (september) and two rejections from them WTF
 
damn, uconn is chopping down some seriously good candidates! i am lucky to have had an interview there with my out of state status and iffy stats.

got axed from wvu today. that letter is on the wall of shame along with case and unlv

Got my Marquette letter today, was rejected via AADSAS a couple days ago.

ALSO, got the shaft from WVU today via snail as well...

What a great day! Boy I tell you, it just makes me want to get on my homework and study for finals!!!

yes it is better go back to study for our final, we need good GPA for next cycle lol. something happend today a little bit funny, i showed up for my regular biochemistry II class, I didn't know it was final exam :laugh: ( i was thinking all my finals are next week 😳 ) anyway professor was very nice and let me take make up exam next Thursday, this Dental school stuff realy killing us.

Wow dude that sucks! I wish you the best of luck! Did you ever find out why they rejected you twice in a row with an interview? Maybe you need to pracitce on your interviews?

I got rejected from VCU and Meharry yesterday, both snail mail. I can understand VCU but Meharry?? WTH? :laugh:

I still havent heard anything from creighton, tufts, howard, baylor, boston, or ucla. Does anyone know why I'm not hearing anything?

In all fairness, you should be really thankful to get 2 acceptances with a 2.88 Sci GPA, 18 AA, 16 RC, and you shouldn't be complaining or rolling your eyes about it. Marquette is a great school and tons of people would kill to get in, and you should be ecstatic to get in there!

Dude you didn't get it... Marquette is my top choice, I'm happy as hell! The rolling of the eyes... that was because I can finally not care about having all the rejections.

People have been attacking me ever since I got accepted, can't you guys just be happy for me... damn! what did I do to you? I'm excited for everyone that gets an acceptance...

Dude I'm not attacking you, chill out man lol. I'm very happy for you! I misunderstood your previous post, cuz for a minute you sounded really bratty about not getting enough acceptances, whereas lots of people reading this forum and this thread don't have a single acceptance.

chill... go enjoy your acceptances, no reason for you to think you need to defend yourself, you're already in. Relax dude, not everyone's out to get you!

Last year I met with them afterwards and we went over my application and the whole rest of the year was spent fixing and strengthening it. This year I don't know what happened but at this point I am in at NYU and waitlisted at MWU so at least I will be in next year somewhere. In retrospect I don't think I did well with the UF interview style. At MWU and NYU I did really well in the interviews but something about the stoic interrogation at UF just didn't click. In the end its only money and debt is debt. I will go see them this christmas break when I go back to FL and see why it was a no this year too.

I would of picked Pittsburgh though... I loved that school! (but I'm sure you made the best choice for you)

Does anyone know if most schools are still giving out interviews? aka bu, tufts, umdnj, pitt, columbia? I havent heard back from any of these schools, so does that mean I'm rejected?
 
Hey, I also applied to BU and Tufts and haven't heard back from either of them. I don't think that means were rejected... I sent in my application in mid-August, so you have to keep in mind they probably are reviewing other applications that were sent earlier (like May and June).

I actually called BU last week (even though they tell us not to) because it literally had been THREE months since they told me my application will be under review. And I haven't had an AADSAS update or anything. So I was a little worried, but the lady just told me everything is fine and they are still reviewing applications.

I think we just have to be patient!

I guess I can add my list so most of you can guesstimate better on what gets you in where.

GPA: Overall 3.2, sci 3.0
DAT: 19aa, 20ta, 20pat

Rejections:
UMKC- from primary. My dad is a DMD from Washington in St. Louis and I was born in MO and their grounds for rejecting were that I was not a resident. 🙁
Colorado- from primary, same reason, was hoping since my father went to the Air Force academy that might give me some type of pull as an out of state shot.

Nova- after secondary
UNLV- after secondary
Dallas, TX- after secondary

so 5 down, 1 interview scheduled and 15 i've recieved notice that they have my file under review but it has been a couple of months of just sitting here. yes 21 apps, but hey, with my gpa you can't be too confident to only apply to 5-10.

Yes I did, haven't heard from any of them yet other than they received my secondaries. I am a late applicant, (1st of August) I guess that makes me in line for the 2nd round of interviews after this December rush is over.

Danny, hang in there! Don't stress it and try not to think about it during finals. I got a couple notices in one day too and was pretty down. We can't give up hope though. If it isn't meant to be this year, then it will be next year or the year after that.

I am on my second cycle. Although last year, I didn't think I was going to get in because I wouldn't have had my bachelors by matriculation. I am graduating in 9 days and if I don't get in this cycle, I will go into a masters program.

It will work out, don't stress it...
 
I honestly think there's something shady going on at Michigan. Two of my friends who are international students volunteer at the dental school. They have 3.3 gpa/3.3 sgpa and one of them have 20/20/26 and other 20/20/19 and both of them have interviewed and gotten in. I have no idea how they reject guys like you (and me too) and accept my friends. Maybe it's the personal connections whatever? honestly, I feel betrayed and angered by the whole Michigan dental application process. Screw Michigan, go buckeyes and spartans..

We can negate the comment about the buckeyes since we know the longhorns will win in Glendale on the 5th 👍.

We'll see if Richie can turn that boat around.
