I burned my rejection letter from NYCOM, my only one so far (hopefully there won't be anymore).

I told my husband I was going to burn my rejection letter from Touro-NV so he decided to just throw it away.

Eh, that's ok. I'm kinda relieved because I don't know if I could live in AZ anyway . . . it's sooo hot! 😱 My roommate told me I got the rejection in the mail because I'm out of town right now. She didn't read me the letter so I'm not sure what it said exactly.

I'm still waiting to hear from UNECOM, CCOM, PNWU, PCOM and LMU. I'm on hold at KCUMB, VCOM and AZCOM. I would drop all applications and take DMU's acceptance should they offer, though. 😀

Sounds like a great plan to me! How long have you been complete at the schools you're waiting to hear from? I've decided I will probably call the schools every three weeks or so to find out what's up. At this point I'll probably wait until after Thanksgiving to do that.

That's very true. I think my main concern was that schools would just start rejecting me left and right. It's great to only be on hold. Some people just have to work harder for it and I'm definitely willing to do that.

I wouldn't call "qualified status" a rejection. I am qualified status, and was told by the VP of admissions himself that I would probably get an interview.

At this point though, I don't think I need one. I will give this all some deep thought, and likely send in my withdraw letters next week.

I'm considering still applying to PCOM-PA because it's not far from UMDNJ where we're hoping my husband will get an interview. However apparently a lot of people still haven't heard anything who have been complete a while so I'm not sure. My DO LOR is from a PCOM graduate though.

You should apply to GA-PCOM because it is awesome. You don't want to be left out when GA-PCOM grads are kicking ass and taking names in a few years. You will want to be in their favor, or face our wrath. If you're not with us, you're against us.

Ok, let's clear this up once and for all. You don't need a LOR from a dean. All you need is a letter stating you are in good standing from your undergrad institution. I called my undergrad's office (i graduated in 2003) and they had no idea who i was, but were fine with mailing a letter stating I was in good financial/academic standing with the school ie. i got my degree. I also got a pre-med letter from my post bacc pre-med office (looks nice, but I think you can subsititute letters from individual prof's). A DO letter from PCOM alumni looks really good, especially if they are established and been practicing for some time. I think you should try and get these things and apply to PCOM, it's a fantastic school and I'm sure T_T can chime in, it's very older student oriented. They look way more into a candidate than just numbers.

I'm not sure a substitute would suffice, I would call PCOM ASAP and see what the deal is. Make sure the dean's office knows you're only asking for a simple letter. The secretaries probably handle it, that's how it worked when i called. They were more than accomadating when i spoke with my school. I hope it works out for you. Good luck.

I just called GA-PCOM and the machine picked up so I'm guessing they're already out for the holiday. I'm in the process of looking for PCOM-PA's number. I'm sure it won't be a problem for my dean to write me a letter. I went to a small Bible College so he's more likely to remember me. I will work on convincing my husband to try with his dean one more time. He already contacted the current advisor because his is no longer there and hasn't heard back. The dean is actually the interim dean and is the one who already said no. I will see if my husband will try one more time and make it even more clear. Like I said, basically the dean just referred him to the registrar's office so he's definitely being a pain the rear.

same policy, same address, the GA admissions office is in the philly campus, or at least thats where you send the stuff, same exact office.

A lot of the GA-PCOM admissions stuff is done in Philly, but not all of it. I'd imagine that the policy is the same though, because they do all the preliminary stuff in PA. But it can't hurt to call.

So I'm not rejected yet but my husband just got put on hold at DMU today and I'm guessing my rejection won't be too much longer. 🙁 I was told last week that I would be hearing something by the middle of this week so I'm guessing it will be a letter in the mail. Yep I sure do! Yayyyy!! I still cannot believe I'm going to be interviewing at a med school and getting to check everything out. Given my nontraditional path to this point I'm still kind of in shock although it has been the plan for quite a while. I'm in the same situation. "Qualified status" isn't a bad thing however, last year, a few people with the "qualified" designation were ultimately invited to start a formal post-bacc at KCUMB as opposed to receiving an interview. Basically, the invitation was a polite rejection and a subsequent invitation to continue your education at KCUMB. I think it's tantamount to "hold" but who knows for certain...

I was complete on 11-1 and they said that I would hear in 30 days...sure enough 27 days later I get hold status.
I've applied and I am awaiting to get complete at RVU here in Colorado. I'm keeping my fingers crossed cause I really think now it is my best chance.

Yep, pretty much. That's what I'm listed as at KCUMB. Basically what I was told is that I'm a qualified applicant but they will possibly reassess my app at a later date. Pretty much they're waiting for me to send updates (e.g. grades, new MCAT score).

The slow death...I think I actually prefer what CCOM did to me and just flat out reject me.
