If Krupajl got rejected, shouldn't they be allowed to post it without being told that they are making place negative? They're probably feeling bad enough already.

Honestly, I did not even notice that Krupajl was posting any rejections as the SDN app was only showing her/his first post until my second visit to this thread...It looked as if Krupajl was merely setting the thread up. My bad.

If people would like me to take it off I will. People are somewhat defensive on this forum. I see alot of posts that people respond rudely too. Please let people post what they would like and leave it alone. My view is don't read it if you don't like it but please keep the rude comments to yourself.

I honestly don't think anyone was trying to be rude. They just did not see your posts beside the school names... usually we try to bold our names next to the school... so it would be School Name: DVMD, OOS, date rejected, email. This way it stands out.

I honestly saw this thread go up and saw both of your posts and also did not notice that you had already received news, it is very hard to actually see your posts next to the school names, so I suggest maybe bolding it so that we can actually recognize there is something typed there.

Sorry you have gotten bad news already, it sucks. I went through 3 years of it. I wish you the best of luck with your other schools.

I agree that this does seem extremely early for rejections, but VMCAS did say that their new transcript verification system was going to streamline the process. I think we're seeing the effects of that here - schools that do a "weeding out" based solely on grades in the initial phase of the process are able to do it much sooner than when they had to verify transcripts themselves.

VMCAS also said that submitting your application early would get your transcripts verified sooner and allow schools to start reviewing your application sooner. So if krupajl submitted very early, that would explain the quick responses. I'm interested to see how this new system will affect the rest of the application process - we may see much earlier interviews and acceptances as well!

Regardless, you will all get your responses eventually. There's really no use stressing over when you'll get them, or who got one before you, or how you'll be contacted, or any of that crap. Especially when it's only October! Just relax - they will come when they come, and worrying about it isn't going to change anything. 🙂

I know it's easier said than done, but try to relax. I now realize that I wasted a lot of time worrying and refreshing my inbox when I could have been studying or playing with my dog. 😛

Very good points made. I suppose I'm just waiting to be rejected . As I tell my boyfriend, I'm being realistic, not pessimistic.

I was rejected by CSU before VMCAS even closed the year I applied - they have a special pool for people under a 3.2 cGPA that they evaluate before everyone else (or they did a few years ago, I assume it continues.)

Krupajl, can you explain what you mean a little better? I'm confused as to what yo mean by VMCAS calculating your GPA a certain way that had to be recalculated by the schools.

Yes VMCAS included a couple courses that were titled general biology I took 10 years ago for the science GPA which I received poor grades for. They were not considered pre-reqs cause they were for non science majors and part of general ed requirements. Some of the schools just took that course instead of the actual pre-req since it was titled "General Biology" and didn't realize it was a non major course. Since I received a D+ my GPA was very very low but I e-mailed all the schools and they fixed it for their pre-req GPA's. Unfortunetley LMU and Midwestern only take the VMCAS GPA and don't calculate their own, same with UC-Davis so I am prob out of luck there. Colorado...reviewed my app early since I was under a 3.2 and so they were not notified of this mistake in time that I noticed.

Do southerners have a penchant for human flesh? The rumors might be true. Sewak, may I ask what error was? Applicants and adcoms are only human (delicious humans) and maybe this is something we could all look out for.

oh, sure, but really it wasn't uga's fault at all. they just assumed i hadn't fulfilled my prereqs when I had-- they assumed this because my school does not use normal class titles (like Bio I, Bio II) but instead uses super fancy and confusing names. so they saw this one course and just assumed it wasn't a prereq but it was. so I'm sending a syllabus to clear it up.

Unless you're rejected much earlier than when any notifications are normally sent out (which probably means it's for a reason such as an incomplete application), and/or they give you a specific reason why there was a problem such as in your case (which I would hope they would), I wouldn't bother them asking about it. If you get rejected, you got rejected, sorry. Leave it alone until an appropriate time to ask for a file review if they'll do one for you.
