Medical schools offers a day that is known as a "second look" for applicants that have been accepted already and want to come to the school again to ask questions, see the facilities again, etc. before making a final decision on matriculation.

I was sad that Tufts didn't offer a second look weekend. I was so looking forward to seeing the school again. They do offer shadow opportunities though where you can call and get paired with a student and shadow them for a day or two.

I'm pretty sure that Vandy is an exception to the rule. I believe most schools will pay for everything (overnight stay, meals, "nightlife", etc.) once you get there, but you will still have to pay your own way in getting to the school. Of course since this is a recruiting tool for most schools, I assume they will really pull out all the stops for the accepted students--should be fun!
