I got a call too
Dr. Cinotti called me at my cell phone and she knew students by their first names, and its 9 pm.

Does anyone know if all the acceptance calls were finished tonight (11/30)?
 
I ran into Dr. Cinotti at about 9:30-10pm, somewhere there.

She was leaving. It's possible everyone who was accepted got a call but she said she'd be here tomorrow so I don't want to crush anyone's hopes and dreams with false information.

She did mention that everyone interviewed (including yesterday, Friday) was considered for acceptance in the first round.

haha, i was in a movie when she called...had to hang up on her 😳 but she was nice enough to leave a message...
 
I got the call last night too, I can't believe it. deciding where to go is going to be such a tough decision... stony brook i think might be my top choice though.

IT'S 8:30 I'M in my bed just thinkin and my phone rings 6-3-1-6-3-2-*-*-*-*..hi this is Dr. Cinotti..i stop breathing and started yelling and jumping

The school does a 'welcome day' in June, usually on a Friday. It will probably be the 6th, though who knows.

The entire class of 2012 will be invited. It's really just a pre-orientation day (orientation week is mid-late August) where you meet the class of 2011... my class. You get your big sib, tour the facilities and the hospital where you'll have first year classes, learn some stuff about the school, etc. Then you have some fun.

It's a nice chill day.

i am not from the NYC area, So i dont feel convinced to go to Stony Brook... Am I making a big mistake going to Buffalo instead... academically wise

This is for you to decide... I really liked Buffalo too, but am leaning toward SB to be closer to my family. Comfort in my immediate environment and support from my family I feel will be keys for my success in dental school. Dental school will be enough to adjust to, so I feel like not having to adjust to these factors as much will be helpful.

Whatever you choose, do not regret your decision because they are both wonderful schools. It will be up to you to use their resources and to create your own personal success.:luck:

I'm torn between stony and uconn... any thoughts?

Search the forums for threads about Uconn. Uconn probably gets bashed more than any other school on these forums because so many of alumni feel the need to warn others. Granted, there are students that would feel miserable at any school they matriculated at, but the sheer volume of disgruntled students is telling.

Ask on the dental forums if you are truly curious of opinions from those of current and former students of the "Death Star."

Yea man, I got into Uconn and stony, but stony is so much cheaper and I have Never never never heard one bad thing about it. I think that is very important to me. There is just a lot of shady stuff at Uconn, like those "numbers" they put up which are not true. They actually make it sound like 85 percent specialize which is not true.
