I hesitated to answer that question, because I figured I'd let someone else field it. My mistake. 🙂
I had the manager at the gym there give me a tour of their facilities. Gym membership's included in our student fees. If you have a family member that wants to join, then it's an additional fee. No clue what that rate is.
For the guys, the weight area's okay. They have all the major equipment, but the only thing lacking is the fly machine. It's completely ineffective, so you may want to bulk up your chest this year before you go to SF. Unless you're a big bencher.
For the girls, they seem to have all the major the ladies love so much. Elliptical, treadmill, cycling (powered thou, I didn't see a manual one for all those spinners out there). I think I saw a rowing machine but am not sure.
There's also an area for classes. Seems somewhat compact but nice regardless. I assume it's for yoga and such.
Happy fitness.
And as far as textbooks go, there's no harm in keeping them for reference. But be warned that the material here on will have a clinical/medical focus and does into much more depth. Undergrad textbooks rarely will cut it.
