Hello,

I'm going to be an entering freshman in TCNJ this fall, but I know that there were some people who graduated from TCNJ that are currently attending UMNDJ-SOM... so I was wondering if any of those people still checked these forums and/or could give me advice about what they did during their undergrad years at TCNJ. Thanks, I appreciate it!

I graduated from TCNJ. You have quite the road ahead of you, but take some cues from the 7 years and all your friends who are doing well. Learn to study efficiently and pick the right proffessors, especially for general education courses. Picking difficult gen eds will make or break you since they determine how much time is left to study for your science courses. Join BBB, SHS, and AMSA right away. During college you should focus on getting A's (B's and B+'s will be your undoing), gaining a leadership position in an organization like SHS, BBB, AMSA etc.., doing research (show interest in profs' research early on), shadowing a doctor during one of the breaks, and learn to study efficiently so you have more time for your social life.

The most import advice I can give you about TCNJ is this: Don't let any bad grade, bad class, or even an entire bad semester get to you. Most people who are in medical school now have screwed up in a class or two somewhere along the line. I've seen so many people give up their hopes of med school because they lost thier confidence after getting bad grades. Don't let this happen to you.

I'm sure there's tons of other advice I can give you about classes or individual profs. PM or IM me with specific questions.

Granted, out of the approximate 64 or so people that I know are part of UMDNJ-SOM's class of 2006, I don't expect all of them to exist on this forum... but I guess I should also check out the rest of what exists on this forum. Thanks for anyone who responds to my post, though!
