Dang it! Just when I thought I forgot all about this site. I love the science ones, the world geography, and then other random ones I find. Guess I'll be preoccupied for tonight. TGIF! 🙂

yeah I am geographic idiot. I think I got around 50. 😱 I am dumb when it comes to geography/history (not my favorite subjects).

ETA: I just realized that I have passed 1,000 posts. (I am addicted.)
 
Man I only got 60 on the world one! I used to be closer to the 80-85 range. Hats off to you TT for getting over half! It totally sucks when you can't spell. I kept trying to input Bhutan and Azerbaijan, but couldn't spell them correctly.

I'm totally slacking tonight. I usually get in the 90s on this one, but only got 68:

i LOVE textsfromlastnight!!! it is sooooo funny! its hard to tell if they are all real or not, but even if someone made them it...it would be pretty darn hard to think of some of the crazy things said on there!
 
Yeah, I did really badly on the dog and cat names. Ginger is not a cat name? I swear I've known cats named Ginger.

Totally OT, but lynda's awesome video reminded me that I was totally geeked by Allison Springer coming down centerline at ROLEX with an approved HELMET on. What an idea! (Those who say you don't need a helmet for dressage might want to talk to Courtney King-Dye.) I guess it didn't hurt her score at all, either, since she was 2nd after dressage. 😉

ETA: I just did the elements quiz, and I'm mortified that I missed chromium, given how often I've discussed its possible utility in insulin resistance (my friend even put her horse on a Cr/Mg supplement when I suggested she ask her vet about it!). And neon, you'd think I'd know neon. I got 62/118, and a bunch of those were remembering random naming conventions like ununoctium.

My high score as of yesterday is 92. I somehow always forget Iron, Zirconium and Chromium. How I remember a good portion of the lanthanoids and actinoids but forget those 3, I don't know.
 
Okay, I apparently suck at elements. Maybe that's why I have done so poorly in chemistry... lol. If I was matching the symbols to the element, I'd be okay. I memorized those all in the 5th grade so they're mostly still there (minus the really weird ones, didn't learn those).

I just showed this one to the husband and he massacred it. Hah.

A Dog's Purpose?

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a 10-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for 6-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.

The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, ''I know why.''

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation. It has changed the way I try and live. He said, ''People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?''

The 6-year-old continued, ''Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.''

yea this is cute! it is a chain story tho cuz ive gotten it in an email from my cat loving aunt who forwards everythinggggg lol

I saw Kiwi a long time ago but didn't expect to see it here. Such a sad video. The first time I saw it was incredible and it's still fun to re-watch. Was wondering 'what the hell?' the whole time and probably would've turned it off if not for the music accompaniment.

Whoever made that did very well from a cinematography stand point as well as an animation standpoint.
