I know that this is still premature, but we will need to keep each other posted on who is offering interviews, etc. It sucks to have to wait to see where we will get a shot! Does anyone know about when interviews will start being offered?

I'll start.

I just got a 'new message' (lol i guess that thing on ERAS actually does work) and an email from the Univ of Fla stating that they received my app and am waiting for the Dean's letter etc. To ME, it looked like it was a standard letter they just sent out to all applicants.

I applied to U Florida and didn't get a message from them. Looks like they are being selective.

how long ago did u send it out? I just sent it on monday of this week. i'm sure they do it according to a certain # of apps received at one time. 😎 dont give up hope!

I got another today, and I gotta say... this feels prettty damn good. To even make it past the first cut is exciting. Anyhow, hope all is going well for everyone else.

MS4:
I applied to 38 programs (only Anesthesia programs) as prelim meds are easy to find. Step I 245, Step II 258, and great 3rd year grades; but otherwise I have a VERY mediocre application (mostly S/HS in 1st two years, no research). I applied to so many programs because I wanted to keep my options open over top tier vs. geography vs. best regional anesth training.
BEST OF LUCK ALL, we'll soon be getting our asses kicked in our intern year, so enjoy it now.

Hey guys...I guess it's true when they say misery loves company, so I better hop on the bandwagon.

I have a question for you guys...I am a US-IMG and did above average on Step 1 (221/90) and not too hot on Step 2 (201/82). My grades are average (3.1) and I don't forsee any problems getting good letters of rec. You guys think it's possible with these credentials to get big university program interviews say in the midwest? How much of a role do you guys think Step 2 play in anesthesiology residency interviewing?
