Thanks to everyone whose posts were a lot helpful.......and good luck for the people taking DAT in coming days....
So, what do you guys think??Check my Pre-Dents

Im taking the dat on friday. Any advice? And how does it compare to top score?

i should have posted my achiever and Topscore scores as well.
I solved only the SNS and PAT of these two materials and just 1 RC from Topscore.

Topscore:
BIO: 1) 18 (2) 17 (3) 18
GChem: 1) 19 (2) 20 (3) 20
OChem: 1) 21 (2) 18 (13) 19
PAT: (1) 20 (2) 19 (3) 20

Achiever:
BIO: (1) 16 (2) 17 (3) 18
Gchem: (1) 20 (2) 19 (3) 17
OChem: (1) 19 (2) 21 (3) 23
PAT: (1) 16 (2) 17 (3) 17

Both of them were different than the real test. Although PAT was easier...and QR was HARD AS HELL....Math comes naturally to me but there were many questions that just did not make sense to my equations.

Congrats those are very solid scores!! And to everyone taking it soon, good luck. Stay relaxed, get some sleep the night before and you'll be fine.

Definitely....do not try to study anything the night before....or study only the things u know that will boost up ur confidence.....CONFIDENCE is one thing which i think is a lot more important than. anything else. Also, do not take any sample exams like a day or two before the exams. I was very much disheartened when i scored a 17 on Gchem in my last Achiever score just 2 days before.
I had to read my whole GChem book to boost up my confidence.

Would you mind sharing your thoughts on Gchem? Was it conceptual or calculation heavy?

Congrats by the way, it must be a relief.

I CANNOT EVEN DEFINE RELIEF RIGHT NOW...hehehe
well i am better at OChem and Gchem was always second best subject.
I started studying right after my final exams of Fall, around 20th Dec, and for last 6 weeks, i mostly studied Bio, then OChem and least was GChem.....
i would say it was a mixed bag. Both conceptual and calculations.

is it me or are your scores not posted? anyway yeh man.. im happy its over with QR was pretty hard, well.. i dunno. i always skipped the questions that would take me the longest.. by the time i was finished, all the easy ones i had to go back to the hard ones.. and they were pretty damn hard.. i was just like wtf on some of em.. plus i was doing some of the easy ones so damn fast that i was making errors and had to do it again that slowed me down.. anyway, yeh.. im celebrating regardless

Check my pre-dents

You would think they would have fixed/changed the QR during the blackout. Oh well.

oh **** nice ass scores man.. 25 gchem... its weird how they weigh out the scores, u figure 20/25/21 sci scores would give you more than 21 but what the hell thats good enough to get u in. congrats man

i just re-took it to improve my score: check the main predent forum for the scores

my opinion,
lot harder than i thought.. dont remember much specifics except felt like i was using the laminated paper for the gen chem section (low score 18) and every question in ochem seemed to be about dehydration and most stable carbocations...

for the reading DO NOT just answer the questions one at a time without at least taking a glimpse through it... i never really study for the reading portion but i advise skimming it and looking at a few questions at a time to find key words. plus they ask a lot for the tone or position of the author on the topics (which i found by reading the intro skimming the middle and reading the end) ... then again i only got a 20 so dont take my advise seriously

PAT: didnt realize that the hole-punch would be so hard! some of the punches i swear were in between squares.

and QR was by far the toughest... didnt even know where to begin on some of them... study trig (all that sin cos junk) will get you at least 5 of the questions easy. i used the kaplan bluebook, cliffnotes and that barton's books to study the math and i had never seen some of the questions asked..

Nicely done! That is a great score and you'll definitely be able to get into schools.

Thanks to everyone.....

TheWiredNerv....i just want to get into my state school, UConn, .....i am keeping my fingers crossed😎

UConn is a fine school and one of the three schools I was heavily considering. I think you'll get in 👍. They really put a lot of weight on the personal statement and letters of recommendation so make sure those are all strong!

Uconn is the best option..instate tuition, my home is just 20 mins drive from UConn...so no apartment rent or food expenses,,..so for me its the best deal.....i know they heavily weigh on on PS and LORs but did someone actually mention this to you at the School?

Yes, the assistant dean who was running the interview mentioned it (the dean was away that day at some D school with a paperless system).

There aren't too many windows on the dental floor but the view outside is beautiful, especially if you interview in the fall.

No, Dr.Thiboudeu wasn't there when I had my interview. I forgot who the assistant dean's name was 🙁.
