You really need to call your financial aid office and discuss your options with them. Surely they can give you some direction.

Did you try getting a private loan from a bank? Yes, their interest rates are usually higher than government loans, however it's worth it to go to pharmacy school. Good luck!

I totally understand your fustrations with the loans process. I've tried to call the 2 banks that UACP gave me, but they won't return my calls. I called Chris Mitchell at New People's every day for 2 weeks. He was always unavailable, so I left messages with the people on the phone and on his voicemail. Same thing at the credit union. I ended up going to my local bank and getting someone to explain things to me. Long story short was that I couldn't borrow the money from them because I didn't have collateral, my parents could get an equity line on their house to pay, and the interest rate on a personal loan of this type would be around 10-12% with payments due immediately. I think that New Peoples and the Credit Union have some specially arrangement with UACP though.

Tuition due on the 15th is only half of the 1st semesters tuition. 6,000 minus the 2,000 seat deposit...so around 4,000...a lot, but better than having to pay the whole 25,000 up front.

Vickie keene wrote me and told me that tuition isn't due until august.
The balance of the fall semester tuition cost ($12,596.50) minus the seat deposit and matriculation fee ($2,000), are due on the first day or August 14th ($10,596.50 ). The annual tuitionand fees cost ($25,193) is divided into half for fall and spring semesters. The White Coat Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, August 16th.

Thanks.

So I think that's when it's due. I would email her and ask her how to get ahold of the banks. Sallie mae will be conducting a visit at UACP this year and might have loans for P2 year. PM me with questions if you'd like.

Is UACP a "stand alone" school?

Yes it is.

Did everyone not think about how they were going to pay for their own education prior to applying?

I think UACP needs to communicate better with the students if the tuition due date has changed. I'm just applying for loans at 3 places, the two that they suggested and a local bank. I'll wait to see what place gives me the best deal. You need to call UACP about your problem. I hope it all works out for you.

Apperently so! I probably would of been one of them too! I went to a school where you walked into Fin Aid, you fill out the paper work and then it's taken care of. No worries and little hassle...apperently it's not like that every where else

It says right on their website when and what you have to send in as far as monies. How hard is that?

It's hard because the website does not match up with what they are telling some students. As Kynsi shared, she received the following as a personal email from the registrar at UACP.

"The balance of the fall semester tuition cost ($12,596.50) minus the seat deposit and matriculation fee ($2,000), are due on the first day or August 14th ($10,596.50 ). The annual tuitionand fees cost ($25,193) is divided into half for fall and spring semesters. The White Coat Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, August 16th"

This is what is stated on the website that you cited,

"Initial Tuition Payment
Students who are accepted to UACP must pay 50% of the first semester’s tuition by July 15, 2006. This fee must be paid before students are allowed to matriculate for the 2006 Fall Semester. "

Do you see why I think they should communicate better?
