NYU revisit synopses:

First night bar tab: $1000
Second night bar tab: $2000 😱
Witnessing rampant debauchery between the potential students: Priceless

How many students will be at the revisit and how much do drinks/food cost?

I remember at Penn we had a ridiculous amount of money to spend during the interview but my group spent it all on food at some upscale 'bar'

I'm sort of confused by your question?

The revisit was this past weekend there were 19 of us.

OMG! Spill the beans! Over PM if necessary...

Just kidding. 😀 Sounds like you people had quite a lot of fun. I almost wish I hadn't withdrawn - then I could have come, too!

Were there any hookups???

The figures I posted is only what our actual bar tabs came to - it was all alcohol...care of NYU.

wow!! thats a ton of booze!

i cant wait for revisits. its like we get some of our secondary application money back in the form of alcohol

If only the secondary application itself was as fun as alcohol...

(P.S. Congrats again Marc - you're awesome!)

Yes there were
I've just been made privy to the stories about those hook-ups and general debauchery... whoa!!! What an absolutely amazing story!

(Goodness, I'm turning into a gossiping windbag.) Back to procrastinating, er, paper-writing!

wait! pm pleasee!!!

Nope, sorry - I've already exceeded my gossip quota.

(I had to tell someone, though, so they could substantiate my claims of crazed lunacy...and Dodo asked first. You know that whole worm and earliness thing)

Friday night is $40/person for nightlife. Deduct some money for cabs out of that. Your group went to Noche right? That place isn't really upscale just overpriced  I could talk all about Philly bar and restaurant choices all night, but suffice it to say for some reason some of the students love places that are just really loud, really crowded, and really close to their apartments.

In my opinion the problem with Friday night is that dinner is pretty early and dinner and lunch are spaced too close together so a lot of people don't really eat dinner then go out and eat. I'm glad you bring up the food issue completely out of the blue. I've been saying it for years and I keep getting told by the administration "nobody says this is an issue but you..." Strangely, I've heard it from about a dozen applicants.

I'm not complaining...I appreciated what I got - yeah it was Noche - I just prefer my drinking money to be spent on...well, drinking!

but we may be in the minority there...

It's ok--I don't think we're in the minority. I think everyone IS appreciative and so nobody wants to complain. I mean I'm not really complaining, I'm just always giving my advice about how things could be improved. 👍

Relevant to thread:

I wish I had applied to NYU. I hear they show people a good time. Penn doesn't even bother to do drinking on the first interview night 😀 At least the food has much improved this year.

I wish I had gotten an interview at Wash U. I hear they really spoil their interviewees.

Edit: Wait a sec that was NYU REVISIT already? Wow. So early.

yeah that does seem early...when do they want a decision?

This thread is the most excitement this forum has seen in a while...kudos!

I anticipate even more awesome stories from upcoming revists!

Upscale? Umm, I might have to take a couple of you guys out on the town one of before we're all doctors. Expose you to the world.

and some of us drank plenty that night

Thats why the pre-party was invented.

What program wants you the most?

For a rough approximation of how hard a school is recruiting its applicants:

(amount spent on alcohol at the revist/number of applicants at the revisit)/average price of a big mac in that particular city

Woohoo! I can't wait for the Wash U revisit!
