I JUST REALIZED I HAVE TO START STUDYING FOR THIS FORSAKEN TEST AGAIN.
I FORGOT WHAT THE TORTURE WAS LIKE!!!!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

i didnt do too shabby the first time (20AA/20TS) but my PAT was a pos with a 17. not to mention the 16 in qr.
someone shoot me in the foot as its that time.......time to whip out the DAT books again......not to mention the torture of the ACTUAL test for hours. and the sudden cardiac arrest/nauseating/gonna pee my pants feeling right before the score pops up.

death. DREAD.

no really i think ill just stay on here and procrastinate a bit longer.......
time to drop all my friends and make chad my life. <3333333

you really have nothing to worry about... you had 25 in reading last time right?

PAT is an improvable section... on the other hand, there are people who score very low in RC and just never bring up their score.... Fortunately for you, you don't/won't have that problem.

Good luck on your PAT

thank you!! & Yess i got a 25 on RC lasttime!! It was the best section for me. unfortunatley PAT on the other hand, i didn't do too hot. I guess its because i need alot of practice and i never made it past like test 4 on crack dat pat. and even with those i wasnt getting very many right.

i feel like schools prefer a better PAT score than a RC score though? i dont know. i just want to, by a miracle get like a 19 on PAT and ill be happy....a 20 on pat and i might die but im not going to even psych myself out for a 20 on that section!

I was constantly getting low 18s (so like borderline 17) on CDP...doing TERRIBLE at angle ranking, TFE, and patter folding...with the worst being pattern folding. I realized that it wasn't that I was terrible at pattern folding, it was just that by the time I got to the end I was too tired and my head hurt from all the 3D stuff, so I just didn't care much. So...I decided that I would do keyhole first along with TFE and then jump to pattern folding to figure that out and then go back to angle ranking, hole punching, and end with cube counting. I ended up with a 19...actually one question away from a 20. Which maybe for other SDNers isn't too great...but i was super happy. =)
Just thought I would share, and maybe something like this would work for you?
Good luck with studying!!!!

Highly Recommend getting crack the PAT and the Math. Make sure you understand ALL the rules for the PAT section. That way you are not guessing or happening to get some right. The MAth section also has a bunch of tests. Especially helpful if you are struggling with timing. Check out my blog for these two sections! Towards the bottom I break down how i utilized crack the DAT... Somewhat expensive but WELL worth it! Once you get in the extra couple hundred will look like nothing 😉

No, hell no!
RC is the most important non-average section of the DAT. I would MUCH rather have a 25RC+17PAT than the other way around.

Read this post from a while ago... it explains how I started with 17s on Crack DAT PAT, and after 8 tests, went up to 20-21.... Ended up with 20 so its accurate I say

👍

Wouldn't even consider a retake with those scores. And a 20 AA/TS is perfectly good too.

*scratches head*

molar3 ~ I am not discouraging you from the retake, I think you'll do better this time around... but I am just curious as to why you decided to retake?

mainly, even after my postbacc my gpa is not going to be stellar like a 3.7 or anything like everyone else on here and so even with 4.0 postbac courses i think i need to have something in my app that off sets my lower/avg gpa when i decide to apply (this yr or next, and if next i think my dat score that you guys all know of, from my 1st try, will have expired bc i took it last year--2010...altho even if i were to apply in 2012, is a dat from 2010 considered expired? i dont really know). So basically i want a really good DAT score bc i dont have/wont have a REALLY good gpa.
um.....it makes sense in my head....altho it might not sound logical. i honestly just want to do better bc i think i can.
also my breakdown for sciences was 19 bio, 19 orgo and 23 gen chem. so even tho my TS was a 20, i didnt get a 20 on bio or orgo WHICH IS CRAZYY bc i thought id do SO much better. basically im not pleased with my performance the 1st time i took the test and i know/am hoping i can do better.
plus i want to get it out the way in case aadsas/adea whoever the heck makes the test, decides to make it even harder !!!!!
yes im paranoid

So you have 3.6?
You have been around SDN for a while, you should know that people who posted their scores on SDN are in top 10% of the nation.

I am not going to retake if my GPA is 3.4+. But if you think that you can do much better (100% sure) then go ahead, do whatever makes you happy.🙂

haha no i wish.
& yes i joined sdn last summer i think when i was applying! and here i am reapplying. fml
& i think sdn is filled with a case of freak geniuses .

What?! 25 in reading? Are you serious???
Fortunately, the parts you scored lower are on are not impossible to improve, unlike reading, which what I feel like takes years to improve. I hope you don't get insulted by this, but try getting SAT prep books. Those are made easier to read and the math seemed pretty similar, except that you get half as the amount of time. Good luck!

oh really hmm ill check it out for the math then.
and yea, apparently i can read but i cant count .
cool.
