Doing TMDSAS first made the other ones easier. Hint: Open up your TMDSAS summary so you can copy and paste your coursework.
I think I have spent 100 hours or more (not counting SDF time) on all these applications.
Edit: Or at least it felt like that!
TMDSAS was cheaper than AMCAS. How is AACOM?
You could just apply to TCOM through TMDSAS. I thought about not submitting through AMCAS, but I figured I HAD to apply to Baylor and a couple of schools just in case I actually got in!
I actually sort of like it--I think it works in my favor as an out of state Texas applicant. Instead of competing against thousands of other OOS-ers, I'm only competing against several hundred. It's a pain to fill out multiple applications, but they are similar enough that it isn't that bad!
If it made sense for anyone to have a separate application system, it would be California. They are smart enough to realize that separate applications are silly, though.

even worse is how slow AACOMAS is at processing their applications. AMCAS verifies fairly quick, but it can take 6+ weeks with AACOM. It must be a couple of people reading apps in a little shack, for all I know.
They are just different enough to have to right everything over, too!
I agree that having a separate application system is just plain annoying, however Texas has their own system because they felt like AMCAS was overcharging people, so they made their own app system and set the costs way lower. Plus, a lot of people from Texas only apply to Texas schools, and not too many out of staters apply since they don't have much of a chance anyway, so I guess it works out.
I have not sypathy, but resentment for you Texans. Yes, it sucks that you have a separate app, but what sucks more, is how cheap your schools are. Most of your schools have tuition >20k. Remember that by throwing non-texans a bone by allowing us to use the yacht you paid for with the money you saved on loans, once in a while. k?
