95% certain at this point. I plan to go out in March to look for a rental house. If I can't find one, it's really going to throw a wrench into things. If you ever find a house that won't quite work for you, Jm, let me know. It might work for me. A 2 or 3 bedroom on acreage would be perfect, but of course impossible to find.


EllieG, your cyberthumb is going to freeze in that position! If I get there and see a girl walking around with hitchhiker's thumb, I'll know it's you. 😉

Well, I took off before you posted your link. I watched the version from the Ellen show. Good god, I couldn't understand a thing she was singing, and now I have a headache from watching them giving themselves whiplash. Oh well, maybe I can practice neck-stabilizing procedures on you and Squib when you need your injuries treated.

I believe that may be a requirement to attend Ohio State. Or maybe we all just fooled them at our interviews, and they're going to be shocked to discover they have an incoming class full of nutjobs.

Life is too short to be so serious.

The funny thing is that at my serving job guests always say comment that I'm "so serious" and I've even been called "uptight." (I love how they think it is ok to comment on my personal attributes. I wish I could tell them that they have terrible breath or are jerks and why do you keep coming back if your food is so terrible every time?, etc)

I'm Ba-ack! Hopefully room for one more nutjob in the bunch?

Yesterday, I had a conversation with Dr. A. Hoet at OSU in regard to the VPM MPH. We had what we both felt was a good conversation. At the end, he asked for my CV and some other information to prepare for a phone meeting in early February to see my compatibility with the program. So thought I would let you all know to keep the good karma going.

Does OSU make one for us like some other schools or do we have to make one ourselves.? I know at UPenn the class from the previsous year makes the Facebook page for the incoming class and asks the students not to make one. 😕
 
Make one! Make one! I have to start associating you people with actual first names! I already know Evie's and pennyonthefloor's but I don't want to embarrass myself by addressing someone by their SDN name when I actually meet them IRL. 😳
 
Okay, I made the group, but it doesn't look right to me. Like it doesn't have a discussion page and stuff. I created the OSU Pre-Vet Club Facebook and never had a problem with it....if someone could search it (The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2015) and tell me what the page looks like for you (if it looks like a "normal" Facebook group) I'd really appreciate it!
 
Or maybe that's just how groups are now? With no discussion pages, etc? A lot of the groups that were created more recently look like the one I just made for OSUCVM c/o 2015. If so, that sucks =(
 
Gross. I just did a search and I guess this is how all groups are now. It's really confusing and they said it adds "increased functionality" and I think it is LESS functional =(

I have to be honest in saying that those of you here on the SDN OSU forum are what really helped me to make my final decision to pursue the MPH program. You're a kind and considerate bunch; which leads me to believe that there will be plenty of others like that at OSU. It would be a welcome change to have warm supportive people around me. Not that I lead a horrid existence or anything like that; but, well, you know what I mean...

Hey everyone,
I am new here and discovered this lovely site when I was frantically searching for any possible tips on interviews. It has since turned out to be quite a useful tool. I found out I was accepted into the program at Ohio State two days before Christmas which was completely awesome! My interest is in equine/large animal and the vet that I worked closely with recommended Ohio State, Washington State, Michigan State and UC Davis. I applied to as many schools as I could afford to (ok, as many as my parents could afford to) and now I have been cancelling interviews like it's my job. The vet basically told me that because I was accepted into Ohio State that I can afford to be picky about the other schools that I interview at.

Anyway, back to the point. I'm just wondering what you fine folk think about Ohio vs. any of the above schools. I'm interviewing in Washington in early Feb, but I think this is going to be a tough decision. I loved all of the students that I met on my interview date in Ohio...but i also loved all of the other schools that I have interviewed at and kind of regret having to cancel interviews. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else is struggling with this?? (I haven't read all 19 pages so I apologize if this was already brought up!)

Um, yes, I am struggling with this, but beware the wrath of EllieG when mentioning other schools. 😉

There is a post about 1/3 the way down with a bunch of links to current students comments about all of the schools. This is from last year though, so it won't discuss issues like Davis' curriculum change (which will start in the Fall). I would check out the Davis c/o 2015 thread for info on that.
