Ohio State vs. Brown

Congrats on two great schools! Writing down a more detailed pro con list of both options may help spur some discussion to aid you in your choice. Things like cost, location, curriculum preference, interview and second look impressions, relation to family/friend life, etc

As a non trad, having a feel for a school that seems more non trad or older may be very very beneficial. I am non trad myself. How “non trad” are you?

Being close to family is a big deal, for most but not all.

Match list being Midwest focused at OSU may be explained in part by some self selection, since OSU is public and takes more Ohio students, and a larger portion of Midwest folks may want to stay in the Midwest for life reasons, so they may target that region.

Honestly, you can't go wrong either way. If COA is truly the same, I would personally go to Brown especially if you want to match on the east coast.

Brown would look very good especially if you end up wanting to go into a competitive specialty. However, your step 1 scores would play the biggest factor in determining that. from your pros and cons list though, it sounds like you would be happier at OSU. I wouldn’t underestimate the importance of having a support system near and the fact that the students seemed happier is a big plus. So go wherever you feel like you would be happier. Either school is a great option. Congrats!
