Ohsu??

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I called them the other day. The first batch of screened secondaries will be sent via snail mail next week. They give you access to an online thing with a password. Also, the first week of interviews will be October 18.

Keep in mind, this is the info they gave me knowing I am in-state. I have no idea if it includes all the out of state people.

By the way, welcome to SDN 🙂

Got my secondary yesterday by post. One page invitation with link, password, etc.

The *exciting* news from the secondary? In-state tuition now 27K, out-of-state 38K.

Could you post the essay question? Thanks 🙂

Anyone else seeing Buckeyes at the title of this thread? I was reading it and was like, "Ohio State definitely didn't send me that question on my secondary. Right?"

Oh well. Go to it, granola kids. 🙂

Just got their secondary. Only one essay question on it, not too difficult. I'm still in shock over the price.

Does anyone know if residency can be transferred to Oregon after 1 year like in Colorado?

I believe it says on the site that if you are there for educational purposes only, you cannot be considered a resident.

Is it a big deal to get a secondary from OHSU if you're out-of-state, or is the school known to "screen" massive amounts of out-of-state folks in the post-sec/pre-interview stage? Just curious.

got a secondary today via email. i'm in california. very generic letter that wasn't even addressed to me. just had a password and login.

just got mine...happy to see only 1 essay 🙂

Rcooney, where did you find that information? I've checked the website and am finding different numbers for the 2004-2005 fiscal year. Can you give me the link? Thanks!

The numbers include all fees, not just tuition. They give a breakdown of it on the secondary.

w00t!

Rec'd the secondary today (8/12); processed 7/20, TX resident.

Can I ask what stats you out-of-staters have?

i rec'd one with a 35, 3.34 (current MD resident, former Oregon resident)

i recieved one with a 34R, 3.78 GPA and 3.82 BCPM GPA from Harvard. I am from massachusetts, female, non-URM.

Received yesterday my secondary invite. WA resident, 3.6 GPA, 28R. We'll see . . .

What are you all putting on the question about if you want to interview over winter break?
Im an OR resident but going to school out of state. I have higher than their average stats, so I am confident I will get an interview. I don't want to check that box and then get a later interview than I normally would. At the same time, I have heard of people interviewing in Jan, so maybe checking that box would get me an earlier interview. Any opinions? I guess since they have rolling admissions, I want to interview as early as possible, but it would be nice to save a trip and do it over winter break.

I got one also..maybe by mistake
Cali, white male
GPA 3.3(strong upward trend)
mcat 27
good Ec's

I thought I would be rejected pre-secondary for sure... how do they screen?

I got one too yesterday....again maybe by mistake. Dual citizen, living in Canada, no home state. 3.52GPA. Just wrote the MCAT for the first time today. EC's = interesting
