Hi. I was born and raised in Oregon. I got an interview there and was accepted as an alternate. I met with with the assistant dean during the process and she let me know that since I was currently doing research in California (I did government research there for a couple of years) that they had to consider me as an out-of-state resident. So I'm now in school in the midwest. I didn't want to put my education off another year to re-establish residency. Oregon is very strict regarding in-state residency unless you are from a state without a dental school.
