Has anyone heard from oregon yet? I haven't seen anyone post that they've gotten an intervew from ohsu as of today. Are they usually this late in sending invites, or am I just out of luck there?

I got mine today, why? Is it a cool program? I just applied because Portland is nice, but after reading scutwork reviews I wasn't sure I would accept the interview.

OHSU is itself an outstanding training ground for EM, as OHSU is 1 of 2 level-1 trauma centers in the state and residents work extensively in the VA as well as community hospitals for various off-service and EM rotations.

What sets OHSU apart is the wonderful combination of having a fabulous and coheasive PD/staff/resident cohort as well as excellent opportunities for research and advocacy work in health policy, access to care, toxicology, EMS and other notable areas of interest (likely future U/S fellowship). As residents, OHSU is a place where we'd be supported in persuit of our academic interests as well as clinical training.

Portland as a city, with its proximity to both the ocean and mountains makes OHSU a prime location for an excellent clinical education coupled with a sensible quality of life.

Go ahead and check out the OHSU EM residency website to read about the faculty and the incoming chair, John Ma (of ultrasound fame) be for making your decision to decline the interveiw...it's probably worth your time to take a good hard look at the program. I know it's one of my top programs.

OHSU is quite lucky to be getting Dr. Ma. He is one fo the best clinicians I have worked with, not to mention the man is amazing to learn from, this coming from one of his students. If the department wasn't great, it soon will be. I'm adding my name to the app pool today.
