I was just noticing on predents, that only 1 person out of the 7 people interviewed is from Oregon. I know that this is only a small portion of people that acually apply but it still seems like this is way scewed towards OHSU favoring out of staters. Do they interview the out of staters first and then fill in the rest of the spots with in-staters or has OHSU turned to allowing more out of staters in? Just curious.

I hear that they are going to be accepting more out-of-staters because they pay more and the budget for OHSU is becoming a real issue. I am an in-stater waiting for them.

I called Mark Mitchell and spoke with him last week. He said they are swamped with apps and have given out all pre-dec.1 interviews. They will probably give out a few more interviews in the next couple weeks for appointments after Jan.1. He gave me no false hopes that I would get an interview though, and he knows who I am etc....not that I'm anything special, but he knows me and my application. I'm pretty much hoping for an acceptance somewhere else, and put a deposit down at another school, then prepare for the long haul with OHSU if I have any aspirations of still going there I guess. I really don't know what their hold up is, but it really is out of sinc with other dental schools, and I think they should fix it.

I knew you would show up on this thread, just had no idea it would be this quickly. Good luck, if I get that UOP call I am going to withdraw at OHSU. Too bad they aren't a little more organized.

Mark told me that they do the majority of their interviews in January and February.
