occasionally you are just walking along minding your own business when all of a sudden you see this blast of thoughts fly through your mind, you;re not thinking about one thing but maybe 10 at once. it only occurs for a second-maybe less, its very brief... and then stops, and everything is back to normal, and you remember it perfectly, even singularly recalling all thoughts and pictures, it is not a visualization of the current environment at all. during that episode, you almost lose touch with the reality you are in and need to lean on something to steady yourself..

i have no idea where to even begin to seach for info on something like that..

clues??

Since nobody has answered...

It sounds like an LSD flashback. You should look up some info on that. 🙂

looks interesting but the subject never took any such drugs, rarely uses alcohol, anything. no parties, dance clubs. no real way to have even come in contact with any such substance.

could this be an organic problem?

Well, if no one dropped acid on the person, then how about moldy rye bread? 🙂

I read a while back about a theory proposed by a historian (whose name I don't recall) that moldy rye bread might have contributed to the start of the French Revolution. According to the historian, it is well known that there was a significant food shortage ("Let them eat cake!") prior to the Revolution. This meant that the several year old stored grain (a significant portion presumably was rye) had to be distributed to the population, which might very well have been moldy. The mold in question, is the ergot mold, which produces lysergic acid, whose effects are well known.

yes yes. still no. i read briefly on this subject during the lsd lookup as well. bummer man.

An unusual manifestation of something like an absence seizure?

Dissociative episode? Any feelings of foreboding or visual changes?

i'd have to agree with milo.. wnl, but if you are searching for a physiological reason for why, I'd have to guess it would be a brief temporal lobe "glitch", not 100% sure though, just a thought.

sorry, what is wnl?
