Couldn't find this answered anywhere- sorry if it's been asked before. I'm applying to do research this summer after MS1 spring semester is over, and one of the programs requires 2 LORs. Since I have little experience with research of any type, would it be ok to get a LOR from an undergrad immunology professor? I feel it would be a fairly strong letter, and relevant to the institution, but did not know if it would be wiser to get them from medical school professors instead. Thanks for any advice!

I am applying for funding this year as an MS-3 taking a year off. I have asked one of my undergrad research PIs for a LOR. I also have someone I did research with in medical school, but I do not have research experience with more than one person during medical school, so this is what I'm left with. I don't think it will be an issue, especially for you as a MS-1. The fact you have even one person in medical school to get a LOR from should be good. I would rather use a research PI's LOR (even from UG) rather than some random med school professor I've never done research with.
