I think this Black hole of DOOM you speak of may be OKC...people in Norman and Edmond got them today...Ours are probably sitting on a truck somewhere between OKC and Stillwater.

Plans for tomorrow include getting up at 9:30, sitting by mailbox until man in blue outfit appears. If he has a letter, I will give him cookies....if no letter, I'm taking my roomies doberman for a walk...that will just happen to be following said man in blue....but for now another long night of measuring tadpole pinworms! WOO HOO!

Here is to having faith in the USPS!

Yeah, I appreciated it. I would have yelled at them if I tried to call.

If mail doesn't get to the post office by 5pm, it's not going out the next day. So... that would be so annoying. Arg. Carrier pigeons would be faster!

I just had a moment of terror where I wondered if waitlisters find out last, but I know we ALL aren't waitlisted... so who the heck knows. Torture, is what it is.

And, I have an exam tomorrow. And I apparently I have to "remain competitive" so... lissarae06, you wanna study for evo at Aspen or something? My brain isn't focusing so well on it's own. Just shoot me a PM or find me on Facebook.

I literally had heart palpitations reading this thread... holding my breath each time I scrolled down. Cheering for that70sfan, booing for the OK mail system!

I really don't get how mail works, but perhaps the Stillwater folks have a similar phenomenon as what I've got here. I live in a suburb (or sorts... although few would admit it) of Denver, and I was told if I wanted to mail something to an address in town, it would first have to go to Denver for sorting and then come back up here.

Sorry so many of you have to wait another day, but I am sure tomorrow will be the day of good news! Fingers crossed for everyone, and I am already looking forward to checking SDN after work tomorrow!

ok... back to my thread lurking... there have been some great threads for lurking on this week!
 
No mail in College Station. Not that I expected it yet, but just an update. Maybe tomorrow! I'm not even really expecting good news, but sometimes miracles happen...
 
Ungh. I'd love to tell Hardy and Weinberg what they could do with their equation. That thing is a cinch to use, a bitch to understand. Or it was for me at least.

Anyhow, I saw the post in the acceptance thread and came here seeking out whether you got a letter yet Rhi. Now I'm as pissed as you are (ok maybe not as, but close).
 
Anyone get an email about financial aid by chance? I got two in my inbox today and was wondering if it was a foreshadowing for anything... anything to make this wait easier!

Yeah, I got one telling me they need more info. And when I go to log in, it tells me "they can't find me in their system" I tried creating a new username, etc, since obv. I've never been there before, but no luck there.

So I guess I need to call them next week after I get home?

I think that second one was intended for my inbox 😉 I got nothin'. But then again, I'm OOS. Do only in-state people get that stuff? 😕
 
Huh well I have no idea what that means then. I am IS, but it seems rather inconsistent. Perhaps its just because I finished filling out FAFSA recently? Who knows... back to waiting I guess
 
Yep-It's the FAFSA. You fill it out, they start hounding you for more information. Same happened to me a month back.
 
I'm with you! 2 more hours until the mail shows up...time to shower, eat a nice breakfast and pace the house for an hour and a half...

I wish I got my mail that early! I have to struggle through an exam and organic lab. I don't know how I'm going to be able to not think about it!

Just be careful in organic lab...I've seen things blow up when people get distracted. Funny and kinda cool, but only if nobody gets hurt. Good luck with your test!

That is awesome that they call that late. They said in the letter that they can start calling April 15th. My roommate (a 1st year) got her call on April 16th last year. It's good to know they were still calling in June of last year. Makes me feel better that I might still get in. Now for the waiting game to begin...

No mail today from OKSU for me in Blacksburg. That black hole all the mail is getting dumped into is seriously causing me to have an ulcer...

and hrtracy, I'm sorry about the waitlist, but don't worry!! I know quite a few people who applied to OSU who got accepted to other schools that they really liked

No!! I can't believe it. I know you are devastated as are the rest of us. I'm really disappointed in their admissions.
 
I still don't have my letter. I called the admissions office and they said that if I didn't hear by Monday to call and they would e-mail me a scanned copy of the letter. She also told me that students in Stillwater were always the last to hear. I'm sorry twelvetigers. I thought for sure you would get in.
 
TT I am so sorry! I had a feeling this would be your year! If you want your extended SDN family to go to war for you, I am sure that many of us will. Oklahoma must be crazy becasue we all know how amazing you are and what a great vet you will be.

I'm not too worried. OSU was the only school I applied to due to a long line of reasons starting with I love it here, own a home here and am staying in this state. If they don't get to my number this year, then I have other options, (I'll have a MS degree by July) so I can always teach or be a lab tech for a year somewhere to gain IS status. Also, my MS advisor wants me to stay and do a PhD...so there is always that option.

Good luck to everyone else! The black hole that the mail was dumped in WAS Oklahoma City...Mine was post marked OKC on March 9th....so they're coming, just very slowly.


PS-TT, hang in there! Finish this year out with good scores and then give it another go next year. If it will help, I have extra thin-mint, and homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies sitting in my pantry (my mother is trying to kill me) that might help you feel better. 🙂

Well that sucks balls. Will you be applying again next year? You might consider applying OOS if possible. I know y'all have a house and you're married and all that but OSU obviously doesn't know what they're missing, so you might consider giving someone else a chance at ya.

Well that sucks as well, but I'd be willing to bet you get into KSU. From my understanding, most OOS waitlists get utilized pretty extensively.

I've declined my spot, so you're at least one step closer.

Honestly, I don't know. I did mail off the deposit because of the "we over accepted, first to send money gets the slot". I really liked Tuskegee, the students, and their philosophy but I haven't been there accepted yet. I'll take a tour of OSU and if accepted at TU make a difficult decision.

Crazy!! I'm not quite sure how this happened but I'm sure not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth.
