Nothing for me today... I was hoping I would get it before I had to leave for my Tennessee interview, because then I wouldnt go, but sadly that is not the case. And do not call for your status, they were not happy at all with that request... yay

Nothing here. Based on when SDNers received letters last year, I don't expect anything until tomorrow, but most likely on Thursday. I'm glad I'll be working the rest of the week so I don't have the option to stalk the mail person. 😀
Our mail arrives pretty early here though, like 11 am. So when I am waiting for something to come, I'm not :scared: all day.
 
Rockefeller, I forget - are you actually in stillwater??
 
not that I was expecting it, but nothing here in Norman. blah.
 
I got to the mailbox today and there was a letter! But it was for the census. Buzz kill.

Maybe tomorrow... or the next day. Good thing I have tests this week to keep me occupied.
 
okay... soooo.... TODAY'S the day for sure!!! (again, at least for you stillwater people) It better come for you guys today because I leave Friday before my mail will get here and I won't be back home till next Sunday evening! grrr
 
Mail just came...Skymiles from Delta is all that was in there...🙁

I will stop in to the admissions office today after class and ask. If I don't have it by tomorrow, I might just go crazy.
 
Checked with the admissions office. Letters were sent on monday afternoon.

Maybe you'll get yours today 12tigers since you get mail so late.
 
okay so my friend whose parents live in edmond got her letter. so they should be there for a lot of people! (she hasn't read it yet, but a letter has been received!!)
 
HOW on earth would it take two freaking days to get the six miles to my house? Jeez.

Of course we have an appointment at 4 and another at 4:30. I might have to run home first... Eek. Or should I wait? I don't want to have to come back to work.

Yup, letters are here in Stillwater. People in the ANSI building on campus were talking about it. 🙂 I still haven't been able to get home yet to see what's in the mailbox though.
 
Urrrrrrghghghg.

I wonder if Texas is too far to expect it today as well? This waiting is almost unbearable. This is my last school to hear from and its driving me craaaazy. Even if its a no, I just need an answer!
 
I live in Stilly and I didnt get my letter today 🙁 Someone, please let me know if you live in Stilly and actually get your letter!

I find it a little strange that I have more contact with some people on SDN than my friends who live in the same city... joys of grad school!
 
Well... no letter for me today. An intersting fact: both the people that got their letters today that I talked to got rejection letters. Maybe its a good thing that we haven't gotten letters today. I hope my letters comes tomorrow b/c I'm going out of town Friday.

Congratulations!!!! Okay, now we need details. Thick or thin envelope? What was in it? What did the letter say? Lol sorry for all the questions. My eyes are dilated from an appointment today and I can't do anything but type on the computer!

it was a plain white envelope.. normal size
but you could definitely tell it was thick. stuffed with about 5-6 sheets of paper

it says "on behalf of the faculty and alumni of OSU.... I am please to inform you of your selection to the Class of 2014, begnning in the fall term, 2010."

and it says if I am enrolled in classes this semester, I need to have my scores remain competitive because they will reevaluate records of accepted/alternates at the end of the semester

other than that, just normal stuff.. like your return letter, stuff about TB shots, etc.

Keep your scores competitive? Does that mean that you just have to pass or does that mean they will take your spot away if you get Cs or something?
 
well they didn't specifically say "make a C average" or whatever.

unless someone knows something I don't, I doubt if you pass all your classes they would take it away. maybe they are just wording it that way so we still try lol. I wouldn't worry too much though... at least I'm not going to...
 
Here's the chain of events that letters to Stillwater residents must have taken:

Admissions office -> campus mail -> black hole of DOOM

Nothing for me today, lovelies. The husband (probably tired of my bitching) called the post office and they didn't have it either, and that's very strange...

Sorry for the suspense. I had to mop. :d
