old kaplan vs new kaplan

I was comparing the 2006-2007 kaplan with the 2008-2009 one and I found that the new version doesn't have alot of the plant materials compared to the old version. Is this because knowledge of plant materials are not important on the real DAT? Should I even bother studying about plants? If anyone has taken the DAT before, please let me know. Thankyou.
