Does anyone know which schools are more likely to accept older MCAT scores, ie 5 years or 1999?

Thanks.

I'm not aware of any US medical schools that will accept MCAT scores >3 years old (if anyone knows differently though, feel free to correct me). Sorry, but I think if your scores are that old you'll have to retake.

Actually some do, check the MSAR and then double check with the school, but your options will certainly be limited.

If you don't have or can't get a hold of copy, let me know, I'll look it up then.

almost all the schools will not take scores older than 3 years.
but it is true that a few number of schools will take tests that are somewhat older than that. but since i dont have an msar with me, i cant tell you which ones they are.

NJ does...

Thanks but what is a MSAR? Medical school admission requirements?
I cant seem to find a listing that has this information.
I found UT Houston takes up to 5 years.

Ill look into NJ. Which school in NJ is it?

Thanks,

Andrew

Yeah, but the problem with UT Houston is that it's a TX school--meaning 90% of the class has to be in-state. Well......it's not a problem if you're a TX resident. I think MSAR stands for what you wrote. You can get it at some university bookstores, but you can definately order it from AAMC's website. www.aamc.org

Thanks ill email NJMS and ask them what they will take.

True im CA resident and didnt even get an interview at UT-Houston

phew, when I started typing ... did not expect so many. Remember this MSAR is now old, its from this past application cycle. Its best you contact some of these schools, but these are your best bets.

Thanks, Im looking at all those that are 1998 as mine will be one year older this year.
Ill go through and sort them by GPA/MCAT ranks and see where im competitive if at all.

Thanks alot for your help here. Sorry it was so much typing.
