So while many of us are waiting for acceptances to pharmacy schools, it got me thinking about how schools nowadays are letting applicants know how their statuses by email rather than snail mail. What do you guys prefer? I'm thinking that I would prefer snail mail, as it builds up the suspense before you open the letter.

I like the idea of getting the big fat envelope in the mail. It makes the moment more memorable. It's hard to imagine recounting to your great-grandchildren "and then I heard a ding! And there was an email with the subject CONGRATULA... from my school. It was beautiful, I was so excited."

I've been stalking the mailbox everyday at the same time waiting for that letter to finally come. I think I'm starting to scare the mailman/mailwoman...😱

EMAIL. Enough with the waiting games. :lame:

I agree, it takes long enough I don't want to wait another 3 days or so for the mail to come. Think about every other day is a new holiday now, so getting in 3 days if your lucky :bang: :boom: :barf:

Definitely email. I know when my (snail) mail is delivered, and when that time comes around every day and I'm sitting in class instead of checking my mailbox...yeah. I feel a little bit insane!

email would be ideal, but what's with the title of the thread? sounds more like we're gonna debate about 100 year old programs vs newly accredited programs.

or am i that naive?

e-mail. its time to go green

The problem is that I have my email pushed to my blackberry and I get messages instaneously. Where's the running up to my room, locking the door, opening the envelope slowly and reading the first few words that will decide my future? I just want that excitement opening up my letter just like when I got accepted into my first university after high school.

Email! Anyway you get an acceptance letter and enrollment information in the mail afterward too.

I have been checking my email roughly every 3.2 minutes for the last week. My mail comes every day at 5pm.

I think I would be more productive with snail mail lol

I kinda wished pharmcas would mandate that all schools have a calendar set up for deadlines and dates that adcom would meet. It would take off so much of the stress caused by simply guessing and waiting.

but then the schools wouldnt get those thousands of free dollars of forfeited deposits. heck they've already taken $1500+ from me.

I second that! My gosh waiting to hear from UIC is killing me!! I think I would rather sit in Ochem lecture for 5 hours a day. So, I go with regular mail also...so I am not checking my e-mail constantly.

Snail mail.

Call me old-fashioned, (despite the fact that I do online and automatic bill pay 😛)but something about getting the letter in the mail is better to me. As the poll option says, it's like Christmas.

I really thought this poll would be a little bit more balanced, I guess most people are preferring a greener approach now. To the person above who mentioned getting a phone call, can you imagine getting a rejection over the phone? That would truly suck. Email would be the best way to get a rejection, as nobody would know but myself. I'm still thinking that snail mail is the best way to get an acceptance.

I had this problem till I forwarded all my accts to gmail and sync'd gmail with my cell. I get a pop up on my phone now with the new email. I never check my email anymore 👍

Email... snail mail is way to much of a tension/anxiety builder. I'd much rather get it over with quickly over the comp. I'm either extremely satisfied and partying instantly, or accepting the defeat and pain of rejection and moving on.
