Old TBR tests insanely difficult?

Man, I took AAMC3 like a month and a half ago, and scored a 32. With daily prep, 3 weeks ago, I was able to bring that up to a 35 on TBR3. Last week I scored a 32 again on TBR4, and now I just scored a freaking 28 on TBR5. All of the TBR tests are relatively old ones. Are these last few tests just insanely difficult or do I have to do something majorly different?

Thoughts appreciated.

How old? I'm guessing you're using PDF versions?

They are the 2008ish paper exams!
I don't know how the paper ones compare, but I've got the CBT versions, and here's how they break down:

TBR Practice Test I . . . . .Good starter exam (difficult PS, easy VR, medium BS)

TBR Practice Test II . . . . Mid-range Exam (medium PS, hard VR, medium BS)

TBR Practice Test III . . . .Punishment Exam (difficult PS, difficult VR, difficult BS)

TBR Practice Test IV . . . . Mid-range Exam (medium PS, medium VR, hard BS)

TBR Practice Test V . . . . .Difficult Exam (hard PS, medium VR, hard BS)

TBR Practice Test VI . . . . Mid-range Exam (semi-easy PS, medium VR, medium BS)

TBR Practice Test VII . . . .Hard Exam (hard PS, medium VR, hard BS)

Thanks for this. I did see this elsewhere on the forums, but can't help but thinking the CBTs are too different from the paper exams for this to be correct. For example, I scored a 35 on the third exam. Maybe that was a fluke.
Does anyone have experience with the old TBR exams?

Then its very possible that the exams are different. And that wouldn't surprise me at all. TBR is constantly making edits and changes to their material. There's no way the online CBTs and the paper ones are the same then. Not that a 35 is impossible on TBR CBT #3, but just what I've heard about TBR constantly updating material

I don't know about TBR, but I got ahold of some TPR tests from 2004 that I wouldn't recommend to anybody. They were much more difficult and longer than the more recent MCAT exams. In contrast, TPR's CBT's are excellent IMO and reasonably realistic. I figure the same thing could potentially be the case with TBR.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I know from these forums that TPR tends to massively deflate your score relative what you really should have earned for a given performance. I'm hoping that this is the case for the old TBR exams, as well. Too bad it seems that seemingly no one active around here has direct experience with them, though. I guess I'll find out for myself when I take AAMC4 next week whether or not this is an reasonably accurate estimate.

TBR can be quite hard, so don't worry. They also push you immensely. TBR brought me to tears a couple times.. but I benefited greatly. What matters most are the official AAMC tests, so taking all of them and then taking an average score will give you the most realistic assessment. Good luck!
