How old is too old for MCAT prep material? 5 years? 4? 3?

I personally started learning about action potentials at age 5.
I guess that's the cut off.

Never too old for MCAT prep, if you ask me! As long as you can retain information and mentally fit to study, then you can continue the process of practicing medicine and the journey to get there!
Oh I'm sorry. I mean how old is too old for material. I saw an Princeton Review Hyperlearning Package for 60. But it was 5 years old.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH.
5 years ago = 2006?
I hear test companies are revising (like TBR revised their Physics book big time, according to SN2ed). IMO, I'd go as recent as possible because it will more closely mirror what you'll see on the MCAT. Think of the AAMC exams. They are taken from different periods of time. What was tested 5 years ago is definitely like AAMC 6-7ish (I think), and AAMC 11 is taken from last year (from what I read today).
It may be cheaper, butttttt cheaper is not always the right way to go. Case in point: Generic cereals just cannot meet the same standards of quality as normal cereals. EVER. Frosted Flakes are too grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat to be mimicked.
Sorry to break the sad news to your wallet.
Agreed. I heard that they were revising. I'm gonna self study over next summer starting in May and test sometime in Sept. Aint got the cash for a 2000 dollar prep course.😀
I don't suggest the $2000 prep course, either. Go with TBR. Great materials, self-study plans available via SDN (or it's written in their books somewhat), and BerkReviewTeach on standby 🙂
No go on TPR or Examkrackers?
I like a good cocktail as much as anyone 🙂
TBR = Great for EVERYTHING except Verbal. Way more conceptual. Passages are awesome.
EK = 2nd best, IMO. Focuses more on discretes and explicitly knowledge. Verbal and Bio are highly recommended.
TPRH Verbal = GREAT. I like it better than EK Verbal, personally.
