Hi,

I just want to get some advice on my situation. I am 29, married and have 2 small children. I have decided to go back to school and start taking courses in pre-med. I have worked in the medical and dental field, and decided out of high school to go towards dental. Well I have been an assistant for 10 years and I am really not happy. So here I am going back to school, I have to start over, being a freshman. Am I crazy, I am afraid that when I finish in my 40's hopefully, it will be hard to get a job. I have been told that age is a huge factor. Any advice.

My Grandfather once told me when I was young, to do somthing that I enjoyed. It's not called "work" if you enjoy what you are doing. I say it's never too late. As far as finding a job, you will have lots of jobs waiting for you when you get out of dental school.

Most schools provide age range details and the majority from what I've seen have age ranges from 21 to 49 so you won't be the oldest student at your age.

I even heard of one that was in his 50's.
