Anyone agree? I would've used OME earlier had I known how useful it would be but everyone at my school almost exclusively uses UW.

As far as the shelf goes for IM and surgery, I felt like amboss prepared me well.

I very warmly agree about amboss. Uworld is the gold standard for some reason, but I found it to be much less representative for shelf exams than amboss. I switched to amboss after my second rotation and never went back. Was way more impressed.

I did not use OME. Watched i think 2 videos. It’s good but I just didn’t want to spend the time watching videos.

I agree about Amboss but OME seems to be pretty popular? I would also say that boards and beyond for Step 2 is pretty underrated. It seems to not have gained much traction since they entered the game pretty late and also because their video library was only just recently completed.

Really? Hardly at my school uses OME so it always felt like an underrated resource. Not sure about BNB though. One thing that turns me off about it is the high sticker price otherwise I wouldn't be averse to using it.

I love Amboss...I used mostly UWorld and NBME for shelf exams but started using Amboss closer to step 2 and I feel Amboss was great, and even more representative of step 2 than UWorld. It might not be a bad idea to save it for dedicated because if you're anything like me, redoing a question bank is kind of a waste of time (for me, at least. I remember questions). The practice NBMEs were good because they literally reuse questions on the actual exam from the practice ones available online.

As for OME, as someone said above, it was a good way to warm up to a new rotation but I didn't ever watch all of the videos, mostly topics I felt I needed a refresher on. Didn't put too much pressure on myself to finish them.

I loved OME. Best thing I did for Step/Level 2 and Level 3. The things he focuses on I found to be very accurate for testing.
